Off-grade Ti generated from smelting and mechanical processing has a high oxygen content. In this work, off-grade Ti was deoxidized using Mg and a chloride mixture as the reductant and flux, respectively. The experiments were conducted in the α-Ti temperature range (1,023~1,123 K) and the effects of the reaction time, reaction temperature, quantitiy of Mg and chloride ratio on deoxidation were investigated. Notably, when YCl3 is used as the flux to react with MgO, it is possible to reduce the activity of MgO. Therefore Ti can be deoxidized using Mg. In this study, the O content was decreased from 0.5 wt% to 0.1004 wt% at 1073 K, for 6 hours, with Mg=3.6 g and $X_{YCl_3}=0.22$.

Recently developed Mobile Device have several RF functions. In this paper, the snesitivity in GPS of mobile devices including GPS & terrestrial DMB is studied. And a technique is proposed to increase the GPS sensitivity while minimizing the interference around ground plane.

This paper deals with a switching method to minimize the current ripple component of 3-phase interleaved bidirectional DC-DC converter for charging and discharging of the battery. The characteristics of the output current ripple in 3-phase and 2-phase operation modes according to the variation of battery voltage is analyzed and a phase conversion method for minimizing the magnitude of the current ripple is proposed. The proposed method can extend the light load range because the switching frequency is lower than that of a 3-phase operating system. Simulation and experimental results show the usefulness of the proposed method.
마이크로그리드 시험을 위한 전압 위상 변동 기능을 가지는 전력품질외란 발생기

This paper describes a power quality disturbance generator for the test of a microgrid. The generator provides phase-angle jump as well as voltage sag with simple structure. The main components of the generator are SCR thyristors and transformers, therefore, high reliability and high efficiency can be obtained without switching losses. The operating principle of the proposed scheme is described and the voltage and current characteristics in case of voltage sag with phase-angle jump is analyzed. The usefulness of the proposed topology is verified through simulations and experimental results.

A new LCL filter design of a PCS with the consideration of fault current minimization is proposed. The magnitude of fault current is analysed with the variation of inverter side Li, line side Lu, and filter capacitor Cf under constant line side THDi of 5%. It is found that inverter side fault current reaches up to 200%~660% of the rated current with the variation of Li. It is expected that the results can be applied to the detailed design of PCS filter.
