In order to improve deflection stiffness of covering shelf in car interior, this presents a DOE optimal design process to find design spec for satisfying car interior spec. Covering shelf is located between rear seat and rear window. It is support the small stuffs such as book, tissue etc., so it is designed to resist deflection. After determination of design variables, numerical simulation is carried out by using DOE which is followed method of Tacushi orthogonal array. As a results of that, statistical analysis of regression is performed. If design space is required for out-boundary of initial level, reliability of regression is lowed so that verification is required. It is very important to decide adequate design parameter and level when DOE is used. This study is shown that DOE method and statistical analysis is good design tool for determine design space and various approach is possible to increase reliability.
