유아교육과 신입생 멘토링 프로그램이 학과 적응에 미치는 영향

본 연구는 유아교육과 신입생을 대상으로 한 멘토링 프로그램이 신입생의 학과 적응에 미치는 영향을 알아보는 것이다. 연구 대상은 3년제 대학 유아교육과 1학년 2개 학급 70명이었다. 연구 자료의 수집은 2010년 3월 10일에서 2010년 6월 24일에 걸쳐 이루어졌다. 멘토링 프로그램의 시행 전과 시행 후의 학과 적응도를 조사하여 분석하였다. 분석 결과 멘토링 프로그램 실시 후 실험집단 신입생의 전체 학과 적응도가 비교 집단에 비해 통계적으로 유의하게 높은 것으로 나타났다. 또한 유아교육과 신입생을 대상으로 실시한 멘토링 프로그램은 학과적응하위 내용인 교과외 활동을 제외한 시간관리, 학업활동, 사회적 관계 형성, 진로 및 취업준비에서 통계적으로 유의하여 학과 적응에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 유아교육과 신입생의 학과 적응을 위해 학과 특성에 적합한 다양한 멘토링 프로그램 개발과 적용이 필요함을 시사한다. The purpose of this study was to verify the effects of a mentoring program. The subjects of the research included 34 freshmen of a 3-year college program for Early Childhood Education. The experimental group and the comparison group included 36 freshmen which received counseling. Based on the data collected, ANCOVA was performed to compare the freshmen adaptation between the experimental group and comparison group with pre-test scores as the covariate and post-test scores as the dependent variable. The analysis showed that the adaptation of the experimental group was significantly higher than that of the comparison group. Sub-categories included the following: time management, academic activity, social relationship development, career and employment preparation. In the sub-category of extra-curricular activity, there was no significance. In conclusion, the results from this study suggest a possible application of the mentoring program for freshmen in a 3-year program for Early Childhood Education.
