This experiment was carried out to investigate the effect of transportation stress after administration of rompun on the blood components of Korean native goats of 6 to 7 months old. The experiment animals were intramuscularly given 0.3 ㎎ of rompun per kg body weight and thereafter were transported for 45 km per hour. Blood samples were collected at an interval of 0, 1, 2, 4, 8, 24 and 48 hours after transported. The results obtained were as follows; Packed cell volume was decreased after transportation as compared with pretreatment and was lowest in 1 to 2 hours. Significant differences were found out by the blood collection intervals after transportation stress was given. Erythrocyte and hemoglobin were not greatly changed by the transportation stress after administration of rompun. Total Leukocyte values were slightly increased after transportation stress was given but there were no significant differences by the blood collection intervals after transported. Eosinophils and lymphocytes of the differential leukocyte counts were significantly(P$lt;0.01) decreased and segmented neutrophils were greatly(P$lt;0.05) increased after transportation strew was given. Significant differences were found out by the blood collection intervals. Basophil, band neutrophil and monocytes were not affected by the transportation stress. Total serum protein was significantly(P$lt;0.05) decreased after the transportation stress was given and was lowest in 2 hours. Significant differences were found out by the transportation stress. Serum albumin, serum globulin and A/G ratio were not greatly affected by the transportation stress. Blood glucose level was significantly(P$lt;0.01) increased after transportation stress was given as compared with pretreatment and highest in 2 hours. Significant differences were found out by the transportation stress. Based on the above results, blood components of Korean native goats were less affected by the administration of rompun than by the administration of combelen after transportation.

To investigate the changes in blood pictures of Korean native goat during gestation the erythrocytes, leukocytes, hemoglobin concentrations, hematocrit values and differential leukocyte counts ware measured and blood was collected from jugular vein, uterine artery and vein in maternal and umbilical artery and vein in fetus. The results were summarized as follows; 1. Erythrocytes and hemoglobin concentration were continuously increased during gestation and hematocrit values until 120 days of gestation were increased just before parturition in maternal. 2. In the fetus, erythrocytes, hemoglobin concentration and hematocrit value were continuously increased during gestation. 3. Total leukocytes was increased after 30 days of gestation according to progress of gestation, the percentage of neutrophil was increased and lymphocyte was decreased. 4. Total leukocytes in the fetuses was not shown difference of the value which the range is 3,300-4,700/㎣. The percentage of neutrophil was suddenly increased, but lymphocyte was decreased during gestation.

This experiment was carried out to investigate the effect of transportation stress after administration of combelen on the blood components of 10 Korean native goats of 8 to 9 months old. The experimental animals were given transportation stress (45 ㎞/an hour) by using truck after the animals were intramuscularly injected 1 ㎎ of combelen per ㎏ body weight. Blood samples were collected from the jugular vein at an interval of 0, 1, 2, 4, 8, 24 and 48 hours after transportation stress was given. The results obtained were as follows; Packed cell volume was significantly (p$lt;0.01) decreased after transportation was given as compared with pre-treatment and was lowest in 1 to 2 hours. However, number of erythrocyte and hemoglobin volume were not greatly affected by the transportation stress. Leukocyte counts were significantly (p$lt;0.05) enhanced after transportation stress was given and was highest in 4 hours. A significant differences were found out by the blood collection intervals. Eosinophils and lymphocytes of differential leukocyte counts were greatly (p$lt;0.01) decreased after transportation stress was given. But band and segmented neutrophil were significantly (p$lt;0.01) increased. However, basophil and monocyte were not affected by the transportation stress. Total serum protein was significantly (p$lt;0.01) decreased after transportation stress was given as compared with pretreatment and was lowest in 2 hours. A significant differences were found out by the blood collection intervals after stressed. Serum albumin, serum globulin and A/G ratio were not greatly affected by the transportation stress. The blood glucose level was greatly (p$lt;0.01) elevated after transportation stress was given as compared with pretreatment and was highest in 1 to 2 hours. Based on the above results, administration of combelen seemed to slightly decrease the stress caused by transportation.
