본 연구는 시간 경과에 따른 준설 점토의 수축 과정이나 고결 특성을 파악하기 위하여 현장조사와 실내시험 등을 실시하였으며 그 결과는 다음과 같다. Filter paper의 함수비를 측정하여 Suction 압력의 변화를 시간경과에 따라 측정한 결과 표층에서는 Suction 압력의 증가를 확인할 수 있었으나 깊이 20㎝ 이상에서는 Suction 압력의 큰 변화가 없는 것으로 측정되었다. 액성 한계에 이를 때 pF는 2.39이고 표면균열은 10㎜이며 이때의 비배수 강도는 0.06 kg/㎠이었다. 반면에, 소성한계에 이를 때 pF는 3.85이며 균열은 더욱더 확장되었으며 이때 비배수 전단강도는 0.22 kg/㎠으로 확인되었다. 특히, 현장에서 발생한 균열이 5㎜이내에 대응된 함수비는 98% 전후이고 이때의 전단강도는 0.02 kg/㎠이며 이때 pF은 0.71이었다. 그리고 수축한계에 대응된 함수비는 19~24%이며 표면균열은 10~20㎜의 다각형 형태이고, 이때 산정된 Suction 압력은 115.2 kg/㎠ 이었다.

The permeability of converter slag, replacing material of sand mat on improving soft clay foundation, was evaluated in the laboratory as well as in situ test. Effects of grain size, flow water time and aging were investigated using sea and fresh water. Converter slag which has a grain size less than 10mm were submerged with fresh water and sea water. In fresh water, the coefficients of permeability in samples A and B were measured as 4.50x10<sup>2</sup>cm per second and 1.20x10<sup>1</sup>cm per second respectively while as 1.88x10<sub>-2</sub> cm per second and 3.86x10<sub>-1</sub> cm per second in sea water. The condition of turbulent flow may exit and was experimentally certified based on the relationship of hydraulic gradient and seepage velocity. After 180 days in using sea water, the coefficients of permeability of samples A and B decreased ten times smaller than those initial values, and after that time samples A and B decreased ten times smaller than those initial values, and after that time continually decreased as for till 360 days. Finally, filling with voids in high-calcium quicklime(CaO) may result in the reduction of coefficient of permeability. In-situ coefficient of permeability however was practically satisfactory.

This study was carried out to analyze permeability of steel slag. Three molds with the same grading of raw steel slag were used to measure the coefficient of permeability. Darcy's law could be applied to the steel slag below 0.5 of critical hydraulic gradient because the water flow changed from laminar flow to turbulent flow above the critical hydraulic gradient. Also, the velocity of flow changed according to hydraulic gradient. The coefficient of permeability of the specimen was α×10<sup>-3</sup> cm/ sec.
