Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is the image techique which is attained by connecting the NMR phenomena with the computer applied techniques, is called the most innovative development in the image medical area. MRI invites more interests than others because it is able to look the inside of human body noninvasively by using NMR phenomena and to have many clinical applied areas by obtaining the image of the physical charateristics of the composites of human body. This article is to disccuss the principles, the image techniques and the equipments of MRI system at technical aspect, and to propose the prospects of MRI technique. Examining the technical aspect of the rapidely improving MR medicine may provide a tool of judgements about selection, application, clinical values of MR equipments, And it may rise the efficiency of MRI and expand the role of it.

PACS(Picture Archiving and Communications System) is a core technology for the future hospitals. Today, a number of hospitals are implementing hospital-wide PACS. PACS as diagnostic network system has following advantages : Saving space(film replacement), saving time(human resource reduction), saving cost(profit mprovement). But to actualize for PACS’ advantages needs to synthesize the technologies that include the image displaying and processing, the data communicating and networking, the database establishing, the information managing, the user interfacing, and the data storing. To establish the reliable and fault-tolerant PACS needs the total systems approach grounded on full understanding the task of radiological department and the hospital environment. The followings will be key players to expend PACS : Memory cost reduction of recording media like DVD, approval of reimbursement by MIIW, low cost DICOM viewer, high speed public line, public server(Web) in medical society by national project.

Quality control, a part of quality assurance, refers to the technical aspects of the examination, including positioning, technical factors and processing of films. An interpreting physician should oversee all aspects of the QA program. Responsibility of the interpreting physician related to QC includes 1) knowledge of the technical aspects of breast imaging, 2) critical assessment of day-to-day image quality, 3) oversight of QC activities and selection of QC personnel, 4) oversight of radiation protection program. A designated interpreting physician should meet with the medical physicist at least annually and with the QC technologist at least quarterly to review the QC tests and reports. Everyone working in the mammography facility plays an important role in the QA program, and the interpreting physician has the overall responsibility for seeing that the program is carried out regularly and effectively.

Recently, the women take a growing concerns about the breast cancer and so there is a increasing tendency to take the breast cancer test in our nation. The imagery diagnostic methods to examine the breast include X - ray mammography, thermography, transillumination, ultrasonography, computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, heavy ion mammography ect. But recently screen/film mammography is widely used for the screening test. The X - ray mammography is very useful in economics and diagnostics but has technological problems. These problems are related to the choice of equipments, the selection and combination of screen/films, the radiographic skill and the radiation dose and so on. And they effect the diagnostic reliability. This article's purpose was to provide the usefultechniques to obtain the high quality image through the review about the factors related the image quality. The reviewed factors are X - ray spectrum, compression, grid, target/filter, screen /film, film processing. And it suggested the efficient equipment selection and management to increase the quality of image. The technological concerns will contribute to take the high quality image of breast and to detect early the breast cancer.
민간공연예술축제 프로그래밍의 새로운 전략적 모색 : 서울변방연극제 사례를 중심으로

2000년대 들어 한국에 수많은 공연예술축제가 생겨나면서 축제마다 정체성 구축과 독자적 프로그래밍의 방향설정이 더욱 중요하게 되었다. 특히 민간공연예술축제는 많은 예산과 인력이 필요한 공연예술축제의 특성상 그 독립성과 프로그램의 다양성을 유지해가기 위해 관(官) 주관의 축제와는 다른 방식의 전략적 모색이 요청되었다. 1999년 ‘젊은 연출가들의 속셈 전’이라는 주제 아래에 시작된 서울변방연극제는 장르 간 경계를 허무는 공연들을 선보이는 실험의 장으로서 기능해 왔으며 2대 임인자 감독 역시 문화계에 자행되었던 블랙리스트 사태 이후 민간독립예술축제의 독립성과 독창성을 유지하기 위해 정부지원금을 거부하고 모금으로 연극제를 개최하는 등의 행보를 이어갔다. 2015년 3대 예술감독으로 부임한 이경성은 서울변방연극제의 정체성을 이어가면서도 연극제의 도약을 위해 한국 민간공연예술축제로서는 처음으로 인터위빙을 바탕으로 한 국제공동 큐레이팅 방식을 도입, 연극제를 공연 토크, 워크로 개편하였다. 이렇게 20년간 여러 형식적 변모를 통해 지속할 수 있었던 서울변방연극제의 사례를 바탕으로 민간공연예술축제가 참조할 수 있는 새로운 프로그래밍 전략들을 모색해 볼 수 있을 것이다. 예술감독 중심체제를 벗어난 다자간 공동 큐레이팅, 시대적 흐름 속에서 축제의 자기 정체성 강화, 팬데믹 시대에 이동성보다 연결성을 강조한 국제공동협업의 프로그래밍이 그러한 제안이 될 수 있겠다. 앞으로 민간공연예술축제는 어려운 재정적 요건과 공연예술의 위기라고 일컬어지는 작금의 코로나 상황 속에서 프로그래밍의 새로운 전략적 모색을 통해 대안적 공연예술 플랫폼의 역할과 기능을 더욱 강화해 나가야 할 것이다. As numerous performing arts festivals have been established in Korea after 2000, it is getting more important to establish identity and direction of unique programming for each festival. In particular, due to the nature of the performing arts festival, which requires a lot of budget and human resource, a new strategic search is needed to maintain its independence and program diversity. Launched in 1999 under the theme of Young Director‘s New Vision , the Seoul Marginal Theatre Festival has played the role of experimental platform for performances that break down the boundaries between genres. In order to maintain the independence and originality of the festival, former artistic director of Seoul Marginal Theatre Festival, Im, In-Za refused government subsidies and held a festival by public fund-raising in 2015. Lee Kyung-Sung, who was appointed as the 3rd artistic director, adopted the international collaborative curating system for the leap of the festival in 2019 and re-structured the festival program into Performance, Work, Talk. From the case of the Seoul Marginal Theatre Festival, which has been continued through various formal transformations for 20 years, it is possible to explore new programming strategies that can be also bench-marked by other independent performing arts festival. Multilateral co-curating overcoming the artistic director-centered system attempt at the 19th Seoul Marginal Theatre Festival, reinforcement of the festival s self-identity in the trend of the times, and international collaboration programming emphasizing new connectivity in the Pendemic era could be such proposals. In the future, the independent performing arts festival should strengthen its role and function as an alternative performing arts platform by seeking a new strategic approach for programming amid difficult financial conditions and the current corona virus situation regarded as the crisis of performing arts.

This study reviews the technical aspect to take the accurate renal scintigram. Such effort may provide the base to make the standadized procedure of renal scintigram. The renal scintigram is the method to image the renal function unlike X-ray test, ultra-sonogram, CT, MRI. The advantage of renal scintigram is to detect early the pathologic lesion because the abnormal renal functions appear earlier than renal morphological changes. The renal scintigram is used to test selectively each part of kidney, and to analyze the image quantitatively. The other advantages of renal scitigram are that the procedure of test is easy, non-invasive and has little side effect. and that the repeat test allows to observe the progress of disease and the effect of treatment. For last decades many methods of renal function evaluation were developed to measure accurately and simply in nuclear medicine The improvement of radiopharmaceuticals and computer program techniques make to be able to provide more information about the renal function. But according to the purpose of test, we must select the factors including radioactive drugs, pre-procedure treatment for patient, patient position, data collection, scintigram and data analysis to evaluate renal function by renal scintigram. The selection of each factors make different results. So the role of technologist is very important.
PET 기술의 현재와 미래의 프로젝트 : Current and Future Project

This study is to review the current technology and clinical applications of PET (Positron Emission Tomography) , and to propose it's applicable areas in future and the preparation for it's the advance. PET scanning is a specific method to quantify the functions of all parts in body and the biochemical and physiological responses. PET can provide the informations about basic physiological mechanism and to identify possible makers of disease. And there are many future application, including measurement of biological parameters and the therapeutic monitoring of drugs. Many studies have been carried out to date in numerous centers throughout the world including a number of neurological and psychiatric disorders. Such studies with PET are the beginning of a tremendous expansion in basic science and clinical applications for the human physiological processes. There is no technique currently available that has the sensitivity or potential specificity of chemical mechanism in vivo in various organ as the brain, heart, lung, and elsewhere in the body. But PET scanning will yield rapid advances in new ligand development, providing an understanding of both physiological and pathophysiological prosesses within the next few years that could never be studied by any other method. The studies of second messenger systems in the brain probably will be the next frontier in brain imaging. The use of biological markers with the new genetic markers of neuropsychiatric illness provides a potential for improving our understanding of the etiology, possible diagnosis, and optimal treatment of these diseases. The demonstration of changes in disease such as cancer and the examination of function in common diseases, such as cardiopulmonary diseases, are also likely future areas of PET studies. This together with great improvements in anatomical imaging and the coordination and correlation of these features with PET scanning, promises to be one of the most exciting areas in radiological imaging development. In Korea, only two hospitals have PET facilities today. It need the professional and specific technic and staffs in various areas to the proper use of PET. These staffs include internal medicine and surgeon as the specialists of the organ in body, pharmacologist and chemistrist to synthesize the radiopharmaceutics, medical engineer and physist, and nuclear medical doctor and technologist, and nurse to perform the study in practice. The close cooperation of these areas is necessary to be accomplished accurately and smoothly PET scanning. Therefore, it need the exploitation of manpower and the investment in staff and facility to expand the study and clinical application of PET and to develop it's new technic.
