커머스21은 한국의 전자상거래 솔루션 시장을 석권하고 있는 이네트의 일본 현지법인이다. 1999년 12월 도쿄에 설립된 이래 일본의 B2C 전자상거래 솔루션 시장에서 돌풍을 일으키면서 1년만에 일본시장점유율 2위를 달리고 있다. 본 사례에서는 설립된 지 4년도 되지 않은 한국의 벤처중소기업이 일본 인터넷비즈니스 시장에 왜 진출하였고, 진출에 따르는 애로사항을 어떻게 해결하였는지를 살펴보고자 한다. 또한 일본시장에서 장기적인 성장기반을 확보하기 위해 어떠한 과제를 해결해야 하는지를 살펴보고자 한다. Commerce 21 Corporation is the Japanese sales subsidiary of E-Net Corporation which has been the leader venture company in Korean B2C electronic commerce solution market. The company, which has been established at Tokyo in December 1999, has grown to the second largest company in Japanese B2C electronic commerce solution market on the base of good performances and price competitiveness. In this case we discuss why the company has enter in Japanese internet business market without enough international experiences and how the company has overcome those cost of foreignness. Which is the best way of the company to get a strong platform for sustainable growth in Japanese market?

제주도 숙박산업의 수익률을 결정하는 구조적 요인

제주도 숙박산업은 고도성장에도 불구하고 수익률이 낮은 이유는 무엇인가? 제주도 숙박산업의 산업구조를 분석한 결과 산업적인 특성과 지역적인 특성으로 인해 숙박산업의 매력도가 낮아졌기 때문인 것으로 나타났다. 즉, 산업특유의 동인과 지역특유의 동인으로 인해 신규 진입자의 위협이 매우 크고, 기존 기업간의 경쟁이 매우 치열하며, 구매자의 교섭력이 크기 때문인 것으로 분석되었다. 반면 대체재의 위협과 공급자의 교섭력은 낮기 때문에 수익률 저조의 요인이 아닌 것으로 분석되었다. 이와 같이 제주도 숙박산업의 산업구조와 수익률은 산업특유의 동인뿐만 아니라 지역특유의 동인에 의해서 영향을 받고 있다. 산업특유의 동인을 제시한 기존 연구와 달리 본고에서는 산업과 지역특유의 동인을 함께 제시함으로써 산업구조와 수익률이 지역특성에 의해서도 영향을 받는 점을 규명하였다. 지역에 따라 산업구조와 수익률이 차이나기 때문에 특정산업의 경쟁력을 향상시키기 위해서는 산업특성 뿐만 아니라 지역특성에 적합하게 정부정책과 기업전략을 수립 및 수행하여야 할 것이다. What is the reason for the low profitability of Jeju Lodging Industry despite its rapid growth? The industry structure analysis shows the reasons to be its industrial and regional characteristic lowering the industry attractiveness. Because of Jeju’s specific industrial and regional factors, the threat of new entrants is big, the rivalry among existing competitors is high, and the bargaining power of buyers is big. As the threat of substitute and bargaining power of suppliers were low, they were found not to be the factors to the low profitability. As shown, Jeju lodging industry structure and profitability are affected not only by its specific industrial factors, but also its specific regional factors. Apart from previous studies which only analyzed the industrial factors, this paper investigates both industrial and regional specific factors, showing how the industrial structure and profitability are also affected by regional factors. Since the industrial structure and profitability depends on the region, both industrial and regional characteristics must be incorporated when implementing government policies and corporate strategies.

몬테카를로 유전 알고리즘을 활용한 부분복제 지수 추종

본 논문은 지수를 추종하기 위해 유전 알고리즘에 몬테카를로 샘플링을 추가한 방법을 제안한다. 몬테카를로 샘플링을 통해 효율적으로 축소된 탐색공간을 탐험하는 유전 알고리즘은 최적의 종목들을 선택한다. 제안된 방법을 KOSPI200 지수 추종에 대하여 실험하였다. 제안된 방법이 몬테카를로 샘플링을 사용하지 않는 유전 알고리즘에 비해 지수 추종 오차가 더 낮고 더 빠르게 수렴하는 것을 보여주었다.

본 사례에서는 해외자회사가 왜 그리고 어떻게 공장규모를 확대하는지를 살펴보고자 한다.투자환경이 불확실한 베트남에 진출한 농약원제회사가 현지 자회사의 공장규모를 확대하는 과정을 기술함으로써 해외직접투자의 확대과정을 이해하고자 한다.1993년 당시 포철의 계열사였던 제철화학은 한국과 베트남 사이의 산업협력 차원에서 베트남 최초로 농약원제공장인 코스비다(KOSVIDA)를 합작으로 설립하였다. 코스비다는 1995년 2월 연산 1,200톤 규모의 공장을 완공하고 카바메이트계 농약원제인 BPMC와 CARBO를 연간 700톤 정도로 생산하여 왔다. 과도한 금융비용 부담과 중국산 저가제품의 무분별한 유입으로 어려운 시기가 있었지만 1998년부터 순이익을 내기 시작하였으며, 1999년 10월에논 본사공장의 가동중단에 따라 생산규모를 연산 2,000톤으로 확장하였다. 이에 따라 코스비다는 안정적인 성장기반을 구축하고 인근 동남아시장을 개척하면서 세계적인 카바메이트계 농약원제업체로 성장하고 있다. KOSVIDA AGROCHEMICAL Co., Ltd., established on November 1993, is the JV among VIPESCO(Vietnam), KOSCO(Korea) & DAEWOO Corp.(Korea). This is the first organic chemical plant that produces carbamate active ingredients to formulate various kinds of pesticides in Vietnam.In this case we will discuss the reason and process that KOSVIDA has expanded its plant scale and grown to worldwide producer of BPMC and Carbofuran products notwithstanding the governance structure change and hardship in management of KOSCO which has managed KOSVIDA.

기업가정신이 산업의 국제경쟁력에 미치는 영향 - 청암 박태준과 한국 철강산업 사례를 바탕으로 -

한국 철강산업은 어떻게 해서 세계적인 경쟁력을 갖게 되었는가? ‘청암의 탁월한 기업가정신 때문이다‘라고 본 고는 답하고 있다. 기업가정신의 핵심은 혁신이고 혁신적인 경영활동에 의해 기업과 산업의 국제경쟁력이 제고되기 때문이다. 청암 박태준은 기업가정신을 발휘하여 소명의식을 지닌 임직원을 만들고 경영과 조직을 혁신하여 기업경영 조건을 향상시키고, 일본정부와 철강산업의 협력을 이끌어내어 요소조건과 관련산업조건을 개선하고, 수출시장을 개척하여 수요조건을 개선하는 등의 혁신을 바탕으로 건설공기와 조업기간 단축 등과 같이 생산성을 향상시킴으로써 한국 철강산업의 국제경쟁력을 제고시켰다. 즉, 포스코를 창업하고 25년 동안 경영하였던 청암의 기업가정신으로 인해 한국 철강산업은 세계적인 경쟁력을 확보하게 되었던 것이다. 포스코와 한국 철강산업의 성공요인을 설명하는 기존의 논문과는 다른 차원에서 애국심보다는 기업가정신이 국가경쟁우위 4개 요인을 개선 및 혁신하였기에 한국 철강산업의 국제경쟁력이 제고되었다는 것이다. How did Korean steel industry gain a global competitiveness? It is because of T.J.Park’s great entrepreneurship. The essence of entrepreneurship is a innovation, because the firm and industry competitiveness is improved by innovative management. T.J.Park’s great entrepreneurship has enhanced the managerial conditions with implementing a sense of vocation to the employees and innovating the management and organization, the factor and related industries condition by bringing out those cooperations of Japan government and steel industry, demand condition through expanding the export markets. Those improvement of four competitive advantage conditions has enhanced the international competitiveness of Korean steel industry by shortening construction and normal operation duration. The great entrepreneurship has influenced a industry’s international competitiveness through improving four conditions of national competitive advantage.

구조용강의 균열진전특성 고찰을 위한 인공신경망 및 주성분분석

This study was conducted to estimate the mechanical properties of steel structure such as stress intensity factor and crack propagation by using the AE parameters. Considering the multivariate and nonlinear properties of AE parameters such as ring-down count, rise time, energy, event duration and peak amplitude from fatigue crack propagation, the multiple linear regression (MLR), principal component regression (PCR) and artificial neural network (ANN) model for estimation of the stress intensity factor (SIF) were developed and validated. The AE parameters were found to be very significant to estimate the stress intensity factor. The performance and stability of each model for SIF were analyzed and compared. The ANN model for SIF was better than MLR and PCR model.

What are the expansion process and determinants of the Korean firm` foreign direct investments to developing countries in which the local investment environments are uncertain? This study examined three cases of Korean firms who have invested in Vietnam and Myanmar. They have established a growth platform and built up local capabilities through the intial investment activities and learning. Then when favorable investment opportunities have arrived or the uncertainty has resolved, they have launched further investments. Also they have maximized the value of their investments through a small joint venture to consider the investment irreversibility under uncertainty.
