독도 주변 퇴적물의 구성요소를 분석하여 퇴적물의 기원과 퇴적상을 조사하였다. 퇴적물은 독도를 이루는 화산기원의 암편과 천해에서 서식하고 있는 여러 생물에 의해 생성된 탄산염퇴적물로 구성된다. 대부분 탄산염입자와 화산암편으로 이루어진 퇴적물 중에서 탄산염입자는 연체동물(이매패류와 복족류), 덮개상과 가지상 태선동물, 덮개상과 마디상 홍조류, 유공충, 해면동물, 환형동물, 극피류(성게류), 절지동물(따개비류), 규조류 등에 의해 만들어지고 있다. 퇴적물 내 구성요소의 상대적 함량의 차이는 주로 수심에 의해 구분되지만 비슷한 수심구간 내에서도 지역적으로 차이를 보이기도 한다. 특히 독도 주변의 퇴적물은 전형적인 냉수성 탄산염퇴적물(cool water carbonates)의 성분을 보여주며, 수심별로 뚜렷한 퇴적상의 변화를 보인다. 독도 주변 퇴적물은 수심에 따른 구성요소 함량의 차이와 입자의 크기에 의해 크게 5개의 퇴적상으로 구분된다. 이들은 해안퇴적상(20 m 이내의 천해퇴적물), 천해퇴적상($20{\sim}100m$ 구간의 천해퇴적물), 상부 전이퇴적상($100{\sim}200m$의 퇴적물), 하부 전이퇴적상($200{\sim}700m$의 퇴적물), 그리고 반원양퇴적상(700 m 이상의 반원양성 퇴적물)이다. 수심 2,000 m 이상의 퇴적물 내에도 약 $10{\sim}20%$의 탄산염 퇴적물이 함유되어 있으며, 이는 독도 주변 해역의 탄산염보상심도가 이보다 더 깊을 수 있음을 암시한다. Based on the constituent analysis of sediments near Dok Island, the origin and sedimentary facies were Investigated. The sediments are mainly from originated from volcanic and volcaniclastic rock fragments derived from Dok Island and carbonate sediments formed by a variety of shallow-dwelling organisms that secreted calcareous skeletons. Carbonate producers include mollusks (bivalves and gastropods), encrusting & branching bryozoans, encrusting & segmented red algae, worm tubes, barnacles, diatoms, sponge spicules and echinoderm fragments. The distribution and relative amount of these constituents are basically dependent upon water depth and grain size even though local variations can be observed within the same depth interval. Five sedimentary facies can be divided: nearshore facies (<20 m), neritic facies ($20{\sim}100m$), upper transitional facies ($100{\sim}200m$), lower transitional facies ($200{\sim}700m$), and hemipelagic facies (>700 m). The sediments that were sampled below the water depth of 2,000 m still contain a significant amount of carbonates (ca. $10{\sim}20%$), implying that the carbonate compensation depth in the East Sea may well exceed this water depth.

본 논문에서는 일축인장하중을 받고 있는 8-매 주자직 복합재료의 적층 위상변화가 등가물성치 및 응력분포에 미치는 영향을 연구하였다. 등가물성치 및 응력은 임의의 배열을 갖는 적층 구조물에 대한 단위구조 해석을 통해 계산하였으며, 마크로요소를 사용하여 효율적인 계산을 수행하였다. 계산 결과, 섬유다발 미세구조의 변화는 응력분포에 큰 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 섬유다발 및 수지에서의 응력은 섬유다발의 이동에 따라 서로 다른 분포를 보였고, 수지영역에서의 최대응력은 매우 넓은 범위에 걸쳐 분포하였다. In this study, the stacking phase shift effect on the effective property and stress distribution was investigated for 8-harness satin weave textile composites under uni-axial tension. Textile configurations with varied phase shifts were modeled by unit cells and repeating boundary conditions were applied at the outer periodic surfaces. The effective property and stress were calculated by the unit cell analysis using macro-element to reduce the computational resource. It was found that stresses were dependent on the variation of tow arrangement of adjacent layers. The in-phase and the shifted configurations showed large differences in the stress distribution pattern. The stress level was very high in the resin region and the distribution of the maximum stresses was widely scattered.
Clinical Experience with Treatment of Angioleiomyoma

Background: Angioleiomyoma, a vascular leiomyoma, is a rare, benign smooth-muscle tumorthat originates in the tunica media of vessels. It occurs anywhere in the body, most frequentlyin the lower extremities. Methods: We reviewed the medical records of 16 patients who were treated for angioleiomyomabetween 2000 and 2012. The clinical features of angioleiomyoma and the correlation betweensymptoms and pathological subtypes were investigated. Results: There were 9 males and 6 females. Ages of the patients ranged from 21 to 61. Painwas the primary symptom in 44% of the patients. Tumors were smaller than 2.0 cm in alldimensions and were located in the face in 4 patients, whereas 5 lesions occurred in theupper extremities and the remaining 7 in the lower extremities. Three histologic subtypeswere identified: solid, venous, and cavernous. The subtypes did not correlate with the clinicalsymptoms. Conclusions: Angioleiomyoma appears to be a rare tumor that occurs in the face and theextremities. The tumor usually occurs in middle age. A differential diagnosis of this tumor isdifficult, but the tumor should be considered in the diagnosis of painful subcutaneousmasses. Ultrasonography and magnetic resonance imaging can be helpful in the diagnosis ofangioleiomyoma. These tumors can be successfully treated with simple excision, with a lowrecurrence rate.
