패혈증 백서 모델에서 TNF-α와 지질과산화에 대한 Tetracycline의 효과

SIRS (systemic infalmmatory response syndrome) is an unresolved problem,. in which systemic cellular injury is induced by the inflammatory cells. In SIRS, TNF-α plays a key role as a mediator of inflammation and toxic oxygen radicals are known to be final effectors of stimulated leukocytes. Tetracycline (TC) is a broad-spectrum antibiotics which is effective to periodontitis and oral infections. There have been several reports on the non-antimicrobial effects of TC, such as the antioxidant effect and the TNF-α suppression effect. But the in vivo effect of TC on TNF-α production and peroxidation damage has not yet been elucidated exactly. This experiment is designed to evaluate the effects of TC on TNF-α production and lipid peroxidation in sepsis. Female Sprague-Dawley rats were divided into three groups : a control group, a group injected with TC, and a group injected with gentamicin (GM). Sepsis model was made by making large subcutaneous abscess in the back skin of the rats. After sacrificing five rats of each group at intervals of 24 hours and 48 hours after abscess formation respectively, the biochemical assays of malondialdehyde (MDA) levels, superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity and catalase activity in liver and lung tissue and TNF-α level and nitrate/nitrite level in serum were performed, and histological findings of liver and lung tissue were examined microscopically. Conclusively TC has a definite protective effect against lipid peroxidation and antioxidant enzyme exhaustion in sepsis, and has a tendency to suppress the nitric oxide secretion in sepsis. Unexpectedly TC has a tendency to augment TNF-α production in sepsis, which suggests no direct relation between TNF-α and oxygen radical production or nitric oxide production. Further evaluation is necessary to explain the mechanism.
개교환자에 있어서 Digital Sound Spectrograph를 사용한 음향 음성학적 비교연구

The purpose of this study was to comparing the speech of openbite patients with normal adults and taking the fundamental data for comparing changes in post-orthognathic surgery state. Studies in speech changes of orthognathic surgery have been examined by subjective evaluation. Thus we were taken the objective results using a digital sound spectrogaph with computer-based speech analysis system. One experimental group and one control group were used for this study. They were respectively composed of six openbite patients and ten normal adults with Angles' classification Ⅰ. The results were as follows : 1. In openbite patients, Articulatory positions are formed posteriorly in pronouncing the vowel sounds. 2. Low articularoty sounds were shown in tone color(bandsidths of the first, second formants) of speech of openbite patients. 3. There was no forming the pronouncing constriction remarkable in fricative sound of openbite patinets. 4. There was the delay appearance of articulation reaction time to enlargement of total duration, vowedl duration in openbite patients.
