This thesis is a study of the missionary ecclesiology, which is abundantly contained in the books of Howard Snyder, a church renewal scholar. The insight on church renewal contained in Snyder’s theological thought intersects with several theological concepts that are being talked about in the recent missionary ecclesiology. For example, the main theological concepts of missional ecclesiology are the kingdom of God, God’s mission, and total salvation. Nevertheless, the differences between the above two a re mentioned below. Snider acknowledges that the church is an agent for the kingdom of God, but never neglects the church’s place. Also, Snyder insists on total salvation that encompasses the salvation of Pizomol, but clearly states that the beginning of that salvation is individual salvation. Finally, while Snyder, in Wesleyan tradition, emphasizes the importance of the Bible and nature, he never retreats from its supreme authority. The results of four theological diagnosis of the crisis of the Korean church are described. These are the privatization of salvation, the afterlife of faith, the reductionism of faith, and the secularization of faith. Next, we introduce the three principles of renewal that appeared in Snider’s theology: communality, movement of the Holy Spirit, and connectivity of creation. Lastly, missionary liturgy and missionary discipleship for renewal and missionary revitalization of the Korean church. Suggest a missionary community.
