97Fe-3Cu 계에서 Cu 를 coating 한 Fe 분말의 소결성에 관한 연구

Various 97Fe-3Cu(wt%) sintered specimens were prepared from mechanically mixed powders and Cu coated powders. Cu-coated Fe powders were prepared by electroless platings (reducing and ion exchange method.) The ion exchange method resulted in better coating of Cu on Fe powder than the reducing plating method. The compacts of Cu-coated Fe powder by ion exchange showed the highest sintered density. The tensile strength and hardness of sintered compacts increased by about 10 and 5D%, respectively, when using Cu-coated Fe powder instead of mechanically mixed Fe-Cu powder. The coating of Cu on Fe powder appears therefore to be useful to improve the sinterability and mechanical properties of Fe-Cu base sintered products.

The swelling and alloying behaviour of ferrous metal powder compacts have been studied using TMA(thermomechanical analysis) and optical microscope. Binary Fe-Cu compacts containing 3wt% Cu and up to 7wt% Cu were prepared from blends of Fe and Cu powders, and Cu coated Fe powders respectively. The TMA observations indicated that penetration of Cu-liquid phase into Fe particle and grain boundary leads to swelling of the powder compacts during heating and early stage of isothermal sintering at 1150˚C. Those swelling can be suppressed by using Cu coated Fe powder. The alloying process was accompanied by grain boundary penetration of Cu-rich liquid phase.
아크이온플레이팅 법을 이용한 대형 공구물의 TiN/TiCN/TiC 코팅층 분석

공구수명의 향상을 위하여 많은 연구개발이 되고 있으며 그 중 대형 공구물의 기계적 성질을 높이기 위하여 PVD방법인 Arc Ion Plating법을 이용하여 표면코팅을 하였으며 TiN/TiCN/TiC의 코팅을 하여 코팅층 분석을 실시하였다. 코팅층에 따라 증착속도는 다르게 나타났으며, TiN 1.5㎛/hr, TiCN은 1.7㎛/hr, TiC는 1.5㎛/min으로 나타났으며 코팅막에 따라 경도가 TiN 1960Hv, TiCN 2274Hv, TiC 2,899Hv를 보였다. 또한 기판위에 TiN 박막을 우선 성장시킨 후, 그 표면의 TiCN을 성장시킨 경우에는 표면의 TiCN 박막은 처음의 TiN 박막의 우선 성장 방향에 크게 영향을 받으면서 성장한 결과, TiCN 단일 박막인 경우 (111), (200) 우선방위보다는 오히려 TiN 박막의 (111) 우선성장 방위로 성장하였다고 사료되었다.

The LED failure rate greatly depends on the physical properties of packaging materials (epoxy). The glass transitions temperature (Tg) of the epoxy is one of the most important physical properties. Therefore, in the present study, various epoxies with high Tg were prepared and their failure shapes were analyzed. In addition, the failure shapes depending on the amount of epoxy and the wire bonding structure were measured. As a consequence, the lower failure rate was obtained with the smaller amount of epoxy. The safety of LED was improved with increasing the Tg of the epoxy.
