『남사록(南?錄)』에 나타난 청음 김상헌의교육적 태도와 그 의미에 관한 연구

본 연구는 청음 김상헌이 제주 안무어사 시 기록한 『남사록』을 토대로 그의 교육적 태도와 그 의미를 고찰하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 청음은 제주 안무어사로의 임무를 수행하면서 교육적으로 의미 있는 태도를 보임으로써, 훗날 제주의 유일한 사액서원인 귤림서원(橘林書院)에 제주오현의 한 사람으로 배향되어 제주 유림들에게 추숭(追崇)된다. 그가 보인 교육적 태도는 첫째, 제주인에 대한 긍정적 인식과 애민정신(愛民精神)이었다. 특히 제주사람들과 다양한 대화와 소통을 통해 제주인의 어려운 환경을 이해하고 공감하는 점에서 참다운 지도자의 모습을 엿 볼 수 있었다. 두 번째는 그가 안무어사 임무의 일환으로 시행한 시재(試才) 실행과 관련된 내용이다. 조선조 제주 교육에서 별시(別試)에 의해 제주인들이 과거에 입격(入格)한 예는 청음의 시재 실행이 처음이었다. 그러므로 청음의 시재 실행은 제주의 유림들로 하여금 조정의 배려를 처음으로 경험하여 감흥(感興)케 하였고 이로써 학습동기가 증진되어 결국 제주의 사풍증진에 기여했다고 볼 수 있다. 다음은 그가 보인 제주의 역사·문화에 대한 명확한 인식의 태도이다. 그것은 그가 제주를 주체적이며 긍정적으로 바라보는 또 다른 모습이며 그의 역사관을 살펴볼 수 있는 기회가 되었다. 더불어 충암 김정을 추숭하는 모습은 제주 유림들에게는 큰 모범으로 다가왔을 것이며, 사문(斯文) 형성에 도움을 주었을 것이다. 이러한 그의 교육적 태도로 인해 제주 유림들은 그를 귤림서원에 제주오현으로 배향하게 된 것이다. 본 연구는 청음 김상헌이 귤림서원에 배향된 이유를 제주에 끼친 교육적 영향의 측면으로 고찰해 볼 수 있었다는 점에서 큰 의의를 지닌다. 다시말해, 청음의 귤림서원 배향은 그가 평생 동안 보여준 의리정신의 삶의 태도에 대한 숭모의 의미와 함께 제주에 끼친 교육적 영향이라는 양자(兩者)의 결과가 합해졌기에 가능한 것이었다. 이러한 점에서 제주오현 배향에 대한 제주교육사의 주체성이 다소나마 확립될 수 있는 근거를 제공했다고 여겨진다. This study aimed to consider Cheongum Kim Sangheon`s educational attitude and its meaning based on ``Namsarok`` when he was a Jeju Anmuesa. While he was performing his duties as a Jeju Anmuesa, he had showed educationally meaningful attitude so he was respected as one of the Jeju Ohyun in Gyulim Seowon where it is the only Saek Seowon in Jeju island and worshiped by Jeju Confusion scholars. First of all, educational attitude that he showed was the positive perception and love for the Jeju people. Especially, the image of true educational philosopher was showed by understanding and empathizing the difficult surroundings through various conversations and communications with Jeju people. Secondly, there is a meaning to practice material for poetry for his duty as an Anmuesa. It was the first example that Cheongum`s material for poetry was used to pass the exam. Therefore, by his practice, Jeju Confucian scholars experienced Josun dynasty`s consideration, and it contributed to make them study and enhance their spirits. Next, it was concrete attitude of awareness about Jeju`s history and culture. It was the attitude that he considered Jeju as a independent and positive island, and it could be a chance to consider his view of history. Furthermore, the aspect to respect Choongam Kim Jeong was the model among Jeju Confucian scholars, and helped to cultivate moral and religious development. Jeju Confucian people respected him as one of Jeju Ohyun due to his educational attitude in Gyulim Seowon. This study has a big meaning that it can consider the reason that Cheongum Kim Sangheon was canonized with educational effects on Jeju. In other words, Cheongum was canonized in Gyulim Seowon because he showed attitude of loyalty spirit and educational effects on Jeju as well. In this respect, it is considered that it offered the clue to establish identity of Jeju educational history.
