The performance of the air induction system is important to the long-term performance and reliability of the engine and its component. In this study. the air induction system of mid-sized truck was picked out some problems for particle separation and discharge performance by using CFD. We could get four design parameters into analysis for base model. An L9 orthogonal table was applied to optimization for design parameters. The particle tracking method was an useful method for inspection of dust behavior. We carried out numerical analysis for performance about each case of orthogonal table. Finally. We did bench test and vehicle test for verification tor the result of CFD.
수치해석을 이용한 HVAC Blower의 소음특성 고찰

In this study, the noise characteristics of HVAC system was approached by CFD and Computational Aeroacoustics. Two operating point, estimated optimum point and free delivery point, of HVAC system was estimated using CFD at the early development stage of HVAC system. The flowrate and acoustics is calculated about the two different shaped model. The calculated result has same tendency with experimental result. The region of BPF noise source is founded by the visualization of acoustic sources.

The performance of reciprocating internal combustion engine is a strong function of the air intake system configuration. In order to improve engine power, it is essential to optimize the air induction system. In this study, a numerical investigation has been carried out for the three-dimensional flow and pressure characteristics in air intake system of a large-sized commercial bus. CFD simulations using STAR-CD were also performed to evaluate effects of intake duct geometry and structure variation inside air cleaner on the negative pressure distribution of overall intake system. Studies of improving the negative pressure distribution have been proposed and quantitatively examined based on intensive case studies.<br/>
