        In a preceding paper the formation constants of mefenamic acid complexes with bivalent metal ion were reported. The formation constants of flufenamic acid complexes with bivalent metal ion have been determined in order to compare them with those published in the previous report. The stability constants of this with several divalent metals was studied in 80% aqueous dioxane solution by pH methods, at 25℃ and ionic strength 0.02. The stability constants logk₁, logk₂ for FA^(+) and FA₂ areas follows. Cu 5.31, 4.36 Cd. 4.89, 4.02 Zn 4.59, 3.78, Co 4.52, 3.63, Ni4.14, 3.40, Mn 4.07, 3.21, Mg 3.55, 3.05 It has been shown that the formation constants of Flufenamic acid complexes are larger than those of the corresponding mefenamic acid complexes. Metal mefenamic acid chelates give approximately the same infrared spectra. Detailed assignments for the infrared absorption bands of the metal-coordination compounds have been made by a comparison of the spectrum with the free acid, mefenamic acid and it's related compounds. The stability series as determined from the degree of shifting in the infrared reg ions around 3300cm^(-1) were agree with results on pH titration methods, but 1160cm^(-1) were not available because the small magnitude of the shifts. The decrease in λmax from the acid to the salts is associated with the weaker electron withdrawing character of coo^(-) group compared to that of the cooh group. The further decrease on chelation is attributed to the blocking of resonance between the amino group and the ring by the formation of N-M bonds. The order of stability of the metals with flufenamic acid was found to be Cu, Cd, Zn, Co, Ni, Mn, Mg.

        The application method of Bismuth iodide, Cadmium iodide and mercury iodide Complexesas Complexes a precipitation reagent has been compared, when Alk-aloid and organic bases were determined quantitatively as its metal Com-plex by chelatometric titration. Though cadmium complex was difficultly precipitated quantitatively, Bismuth complex was precipitated quantitatively and the composition of the precipitate was constant, But was not sensible end point. Mercury iodide complex was precipitated quantitatively too and the composition of the precipitate was [??] H.HgI4 in acid medium. Therefore, the K2HgI4 method will be recommended, rather than the KBiI4 and K2 CdI4 method, as a quantitative method of einchonin.

        The dissociation constant of mefenamic acid in 80% aqueous dioxane solution was found to be ?? at 25℃ and ionic strength 0.02 and the stability constans of this with several divalent metals was studied in 80% aqueous dioxane solution by Bjerrum titration methods, at 25℃ and ionic strength 0.02. The Bjerrum titration method as modified by Harris and Sweet was adapted to the present work. The stability constants log k₁, log k₂for ?? and MA₂ are as follows. Cu 4.95,3.87 Cd 4.29,3.44 Zn 4.15,3.34 Co 4.12,3.31 Ni 3.77,3.12 Mn 3.56,3.03 Several metal mefenamic acid coordination compounds were prepared in aqueous solutions. These complexes have 2:1 ratio of metal to the mefenamic acid and their amino and carboxyl groups are assumed to participate in the complex formation. Metal-mefenamic acid chelates give approximately the same infrared spectrum. Detailed assignments for the infrared absorption bands of the metal-coordrnation compounds have been made by a comparsion of the spectrum with the mefenamic acie and it's related compounds. The stability series as determined from the degree of shifting in the infrared regions around ?? were agree with results on pH titration and ?? were not available because the small magnitude of the shifts. In a series of quantitative determination of drugs by atomic absorption spectrometry, the authors attempted indirect determinaton of mefenamic acid by the extraction of its insoluble copper(Ⅱ) complex with methyl isobutyl ketone from ammonium acetate solution of pH 7. Mefenamic acid is determened indirectly by measuring copper in MIBK phase by atomic absorption spectrometry. The calibration curve obtained was shown to be linear in the range of ?? M and the recovery was 99.69%. The bromination method has been used for the analysis of a number of materials. A general analytical procedure for this method has been worked out which is applicable, with few modifications, to a great many compounds. The direct method and biamperometry, as compared with the excess method, is to be prefered when applicable. Good result were obtained for mefenamic acid, flufenamic acid and N-phenyl anthranilic acid.

        Dibucaine-selective poly(vinyl chloride) menbrance electrodes were designed based on ion-association complex between dibucaine and metal iodide complex such as H??, Bil?? and CdI??. Stable potentiometric response was obtained with Meyer reagent at pH 3.0-5.5, with Dragendorff reagent at pH 3.0-5.0 and with Marume reagent at pH 3.0-5.5. The best plasticizer was 49 w/w% acetyl-tri-n-butly critrate for Meyer reagent, 65.3 w.w% for Marume reagent. The electrodes exhibited a linear response based on Meyer, Dragendorff and Marume complex were the concentration range of 2×10?4×10?M ,2×10×4×10?M, 2×10?1×10?M,respectively. The potentiometric response slope of optimized membrane electrodes based on Meyer, Dragendorff and Marume complex for dibucaine were 56.12,57.81 and 56.45?? with relative standard deviation of 2.75, 2.29 and 1.96%, respectively. This ISE methods are found to be sensitive, rapid, fairly accurate and are able to be empolyed successfully for the determination of dibucaine preparations.

        The fabrication and performance characteristics of quinine sensitive poly(vinyl chloride) membrane electrodes based on the ion-association complex of quinine with an anionic counter ion, metal thiocyanates (Co(SCN)??, Cd(SCN)??, Fe((SCN)??, Hg(SCN)??, Mn(SCN)??, Ni(SCN)??, zn(SCN)??) was described. The sensing membrane was based on the quinine complex of cobalt thiocyanate plasticized with 65.3% (w/w) tris(2-ethylhexyl) phosphate (TEHP), ferric thiocyanate with 65.3% (w/w) TEHP, nickel thiocyanate with 65.3% (w/w) TEHP and zinc thiocyanate with 49% (w/w) TEHP. These electrodes show a linear response down to 1.2×10?, 1.0×10?, 9.6×10?, 2.0×10?M with Nernstian slope of 55.69, 54.96, 56.63, 55.80 mV/dec. for quinine with relative standard deviation of 3.1, .51, 2.26, 3.16% at pH 5.5∼7.6, respectively. Response time was 10∼20s. The quinine-nickel complex with 65.3% (w/w) TEHP was the optimal ion-exchanger for quinine selective electrode. The electrode exhibits good selectivity for the quinine in the presence of some inorganic cation and organic cations. The quinindine-nickel complex instead of quinine-nickel complex as an ion-exchanger was successfully applied to the direct potentiometric determination of quinidine pharmaceutical preparation giving an average recovery of 101.5% and relative standard deviation of 2.5%.
