        뇌졸중 환자에 대한 레이저 치료의 효과: 체계적 문헌고찰 및 메타분석

        Objectives: This study is purposed to investigate the effect and safety of laser therapy for stroke patients by systematic review and meta-analysis of the randomized controlled trials (RCTs). Methods: RCTs on the treatment of laser therapy for stroke patients were selected among the literature published from January 2000 to June 2022 in twelve domestic and foreign databases. The quality of the literature was evaluated using the Cochrane's Risk of Bias tool and RevMan 5.4 was used for the synthesis of results. Results: Total 2,598 patients with stroke were finally selected from 18 RCTs. Meta-analysis showed that laser therapy was effective in significantly improving activities of daily living (MBI), motor function (effective rate), upper motor function (FMA-UE), shoulder pain related factors (CGRP, ET-1, BK). Overall, the risk of bias was uncertain or low in the quality assessment of the literature. Conclusions: Although it is unclear that laser therapy is more effective than sham laser, laser therapy might be more effective in improving symptoms than conventional rehabilitation alone. Furthermore, no serious adverse events were founded in laser therapy studies. However, the quality of the selected literature was generally low. Therefore, further studies with high methodological quality on laser therapy for stroke patients would be required in the future.

        급성 횡단성 척수염으로 의심된 길랑바레증후군 환자에 대한 한방 치료 증례보고 1례

        A 67-year-old female patient diagnosed with acute transverse myelitis visited our hospital in February 2023. Consultation papers indicated that she was diagnosed with acute transverse myelitis and that she complained of quadriparesis and numbness in both hands and feet. However, her spine magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) did not clearly indicate that she suffered from acute transverse myelitis. She was then sent to a high-level hospital and diagnosed with Guillain-Barre Syndrome through electromyography, cerebrospinal fluid test, and spine MRI. On March 2023, she visited our hospital again, still complaining about weakness in both hands and inability to walk. She was treated with Korean medicine, including acupuncture, electroacupuncture, pharmacopuncture, and herbal medicine such as Yanggyeoksanhwatang and Sipimijihwang-tanggami. After three months, she was discharged on cane walking. The manual muscle test (MMT) grade of her upper limbs increased from 3-/3-/3-/3- (shoulder/elbow/wrist/fingers) to 4/4/4/3+, and the MMT grade of her lower limbs increased from 2/2/2/2 (pelvis/knee/ankle/feet) to 4/4/4-/4-. Her numbness in both feet disappeared, and her numbness in both hands decreased from a numeric rating scale of 7 to 2. No adverse events were reported during treatment. This case implies the therapeutic potential of Korean medicine for Guillain-Barre Syndrome, especially for those who had delayed diagnosis and missed the opportunity to get plasma exchange.

        청심연자탕의 연구 동향

        Objective This study was aimed to provide the information about Cheongsimyeonja-tang by domestic papers and theses. Method 50 Domestic papers related to Cheongsimyeonja-tang were selected according to the criteria. These papers were classified and analyzed by research designs, methods and results. Result The following results were obtained in this study. 1. 19 experimental studies on the effect of Cheongsimyeonja-tang were mainly focused on anti-aging, followed by anti-allergy, anti-inflammation, improvement of immune system. And there were 4 experimental studies on the safety of Cheongsimyeonja-tang, proving safety by acute toxicity test, nephrotoxicity test, drug interaction, and test of residual ingredients after decoction. 2. 25 clinical studies on the effect of Cheongsimyeonja-tang were mainly focused on cardiovascular and cerebral vascular diseases, followed by psychiatric and otologic disorder, dermatologic and musculoskeletal diseases. Also, there were 2 studies on the effect of Cheongsimyeonja-tang for diabetes insipidus, macular degeneration, digestive disorder in terminal cancer, drug-induced hepatitis. 3. More evidenced studies on Cheongsimyeonja-tang are needed and it is recommended that psychiatric questionnaire should be used for assessing the effects of Cheongsimyeonja-tang.

        Redox flow desalination for tetramethylammonium hydroxide removal and recovery from semiconductor wastewater

        As part of humankind’s path towards more sustainable water technologies, redox flow desalination (RFD)has emerged as a promising technology due to its high energy efficiency and easy operation. So far, RFDresearch has focused on removing and recovering inorganic salts such as lithium-ions, heavy metal ions,or phosphate and nitrate ions. Thus, the potential of RFD in water desalination and resource recovery processeshas not been fully demonstrated. Therefore, this study aimed to assess RFD for the valorization oftetramethylammonium hydroxide (TMAH) as value-added organic compounds from wastewater beyondinorganic elements, which is widely being used as an etching solvent, photoresist developer, and surfactantin semiconductor and display industries. By applying a low cell voltage (<1.2 V), a reversible redoxreaction allowed a continuous removal of TMAH from the wastewater stream and a simultaneous recoveryfor reuse as a form of tetramethylammonium cation. The TMAH removal rate was approximately4.3 mM/g/h with a 40% recovery ratio. With various operational conditions (i.e., TMAH concentration, cellvoltage, and flow rate), our system exhibited a high potential for the valorization of TMAH with 60%reduction in capital cost compared to conventional desalination processes.

        정서명명이 사회불안이 높은 대학생들의 발표불안 감소에 미치는 효과 : 예비연구

        정서명명(affect labeling)이란 자신이 경험하는 감정이 무엇인지 이름을 붙여 표현하는 것으로, 최근 국외의 실험 연구를 통해 불안과 같은 부정적 정서를 감소시키는 효과적인 방법으로 밝혀지고 있다. 본 연구에서는 정서명명을 개별 처치로 개발하고 정서명명 처치가 사회불안 성향을 지닌 대학생들의 발표불안에 미치는 영향을 알아보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 773명의 남녀 대학생들을 대상으로 사회불안 성향이 높은 34명을 선발하였고, 이들을 정서명명 처치를 받는 집단 또는 무처치 집단으로 무선할당하였다. 이 후 모든 참여자를 대상으로 즉흥발표 과제를 실시하였는데, 정서명명 처치를 받은 이들은 발표 시 정서명명을 사용하도록 지시받았다. 발표과제 수행 시 참여자들의 불안 수준은 심박수(BPM)와 자기보고를 통해 측정되었다. 실험 결과, 정서명명 처치집단은 무처치 집단에 비해 발표 당시의 불안 수준뿐만 아니라 발표 전 예기불안과 발표 후 휴식기의 불안 수준도 유의하게 낮았다. 이와 같은 결과는 정서명명 처치가 사회불안 수준이 높은 이들의 발표불안 감소, 특히 예기불안과 발표 후 회복기를 포함한 발표의 전 과정에서 도움이 될 수 있는 가능성을 시사한다. 위의 결과를 바탕으로 본 연구의 의의와 제한점 및 추후 연구의 필요성에 대해 논의하였다. Affect labeling refers to naming one’s emotional experiences, which has empirical evidence for reducing negative emotion such as anxiety. This study developed an experimental treatment of affect labeling and examined its effects on speech anxiety among socially anxious undergraduates. Out of 773 undergraduates 34 socially anxious individuals were selected, and they were randomly assigned either to the affect labeling treatment group or the control group with no treatment. Following treatment, all participants were asked to perform an impromptu speech task while their anxiety level was measured by heart rate (BPM) and self-report. Results showed that affect labeling group had significantly lower anxiety during the anticipation, speech, and recovery period, as compared to the control group. These results suggest that affect labeling is potentially effective to reduce speech anxiety for those with high level of social anxiety. Implications and limitations of these results and what are warranted for future research are discussed.

        효율적 수자원 활용을 위한 폐리튬이온배터리 재활용 습식 제련 기술 연구 동향

        With a rapid expansion in electric vehicles, a huge amount of the spent Li-ion batteries (LIBs) could be discharged in near future. And thus, the proper handling of the spent LIBs is essential to sustainable development in the industry of electrical vehicles. Among various approaches such as pyrometallurgy, hydrometallurgy, and direct recycling, the hydrometallurgical manner has gained interest in recycling the spent LIBs due to its high effectiveness in recycling raw materials (e.g., lithium, nickel, cobalt, and manganese). However, the hydrometallurgical process not only requires the use of large amounts of acids and water resources but also produces toxic gases and wastewater leading to environmental and economic problems, considering potential economic and environmental problems. Thus, this review aims to provide an overview of conventional and state-of-the-art hydrometallurgical processes to recover valuable metals from spent LIBs. First, we briefly introduce the basic principle and materials of LIBs. Then, we briefly introduce the operations and pros-and cons- of hydrometallurgical processes. Finally, this review proposes future research directions in hydrometallurgy, and its potential opportunities in the fundamental and practical challenges regarding its deployment going forward.

        Dantzig 위험을 사용한 포트폴리오 최적화 선형계획법 모형

        포트폴리오 최적화 이론의 초석인 Markowitz의 평균-분산 포트폴리오 모형 (1952)이 발표된 이후로 많은 분야에서 포트폴리오 최적화에 대한 다양한 연구가 진행되었다. 기존의 평균-분산 포트폴리오 모형은 주로 목적함수나 제약식에 비선형 볼록 형태를 포함한다. 이를 Dantzig의 선형계획법을 적용하여 선형으로 변환시켜 알고리즘 계산 시간을 효율적으로 감소시켰다. 또한 시계열 데이터 특성을 반영하여 시간에 따른 가중치를 고려하는 가우시안 커널 가중치 공분산을 제안하였다. 여기에 일정 부분은 벤치마크에 투자하고 나머지는 포트폴리오 최적화 모형으로 제안된 자산들에 투자하는 퍼터베이션 방법을 적용하여 평균 수익률과 위험도를 목적에 맞게 조절하도록 하였다. 또한, 본 논문에서는 안정적이면서도 적은 자산을 보유하게 포트폴리오를 구성하여 관리비용(management costs)과 거래비용(transaction costs)를 낮출 수 있는 Dantzig-type 퍼터베이션 포트폴리오 모형을 제안하였다. 제안된 모형의 성능은 5개의 실제 데이터 세트로 벤치마크 포트폴리오와 비교 분석하여 평가하였다. 최종적으로 제안한 최적화 모형은 벤치마크보다 높은 기대수익률이나 낮은 위험도를 갖는 포트폴리오를 구성하여 퍼터베이션 목적을 만족하며, 투자한 자산의 수와 시간에 따른 자산 구성 변화를 일정 수준 이하로 조절하는 희소하며 안정적인 결과를 얻었다.
