영아교사와 유아교사 역할수행에 관한 보육교사의 인식 차이

The purpose of this study was to investigate the differences of teachers` perceptions about infant and preschool teachers` role-performance according to individual variables (level of education, teaching career). The subjects of this study were 375 child care teachers form public, private, and home child care centers located in D city. Collected data was analyzed using a paired t-test of the differences of teachers` perceptions about infant teachers` and preschool teachers` role-performance and a repeated measures ANOVA was used to obtain the differences of teachers` perceptions about infant and preschool teachers` role-performance according to the variables. The results of this study were as follows: First, significant differences in child care teachers` perception between the role-performance of infant and preschooler teachers existed. Second, there were significant differences in child care teachers` perception of role-performance according to educational level. Perceptions of child care teachers who were university graduates were higher than those who were college graduates or who had lower levels of education. Third, there were no significant differences in child care teachers` perception in terms of infant and preschool teachers` role-performance. Fourth, in terms of role-performance, there were significant differences in child care teachers` perception of the preschool teacher. To conclude, results form this study indicate that early childhood professionals should try to seek ways to increase perceptions of teacher`s role-performance as one considers developmental characteristics of young children.
