서태양,주선희 대한관광경영학회 2002 觀光硏究 Vol.17 No.1
The results of the study are as follows: First, visiting cultural and historical sites was found to be the most frequent activities by tourists. This reflects the characteristics of Gyeongju, the ancient capital of the Shilla dynasty with a thousand year history. Second, the interrelationship between tourist activities and repurchasing intention of souvenirs were analyzed. The results show that visitors to cultural and historical site were positively related to repurchasing intention of tourism souvenirs. By nationality, shopping activities were negatively related to repurchasing intention of souvenirs in Japanese tourists. However, there was no interrelationship between tourist activities and repurchasing intention of souvenirs in Western tourists. Third, the relationship between purchasing attributes and repurchasing intention was also explored. The results indicate that purchasing attributes such as characteristic, art and utility was statistically significant for all tourists. This finding implies that major factors of purchasing attributes have a positive influence on repurchasing intention of souvenirs to tourists visiting Gyeongju. By nationality, purchasing attributes of characteristic and utility were found to be statistically significant to Korean and Japanese tourists. Purchasing attributes of characteristic, art, and utility were found to be statistically significant to western tourists. Finally, there are some limitations in this study. Firstly, this study could not review many articles with regard to tourism souvenir (purchasing behavior) due to a lack of literature Secondly, this study researched the behavior of purchasing tourism souvenirs in the specific area of Gyeongju so, future research needs to be conducted in other regions for generalization.

The purpose of this study was to find space standard and length standard of the Mega-Event facilities of the 2000 Kyongju World Culture EXPO, based on the perception of tourists' crowding. Space standards(㎡/person) and length standards(m/person) of the Mega-Event facilities could be measurable. But there were not the cure-all standard applying with all tourist attractions and facilities. Almost space standards of facilities were less than 1㎡/person. The results also show that length standard of Special Exhibition(weekday 0.51m/person weekend 0.33m/person) was the longest. Almost length standards of facilities were found to be longer weekend than weekday. The results indicate that a day carrying capacity of two standards was greater than the company's estimations. But it was overestimated under the carrying capacity of opening times. The findings imply that these two standards will be a guideline controlling number of tourists and size of facilities to Mega-Event planners. Length standards through tourist crowding perception will be new hint to researchers of carrying capacity. Finally, it could be applied to carrying capacity studies with various tourist attractions, studies of comparing standards between open area and closed area, and crowding perception stage study.
