        영남지역 고령토-납석 광상의 성인 연구

        Occurrences of many kaolin-pyrophyllite deposits in the Youngnam area is related to the Late Cretaceous volcanic rocks, which are widely distributed through southern part from Tongnae-Yangsan to Miryang-Wolsung. The mode of occurrence and genesis of the kaolin-pyrophyllite deposits related to the volcanism was studied. This area is covered by andesitic rocks, rhyolite and rhyolitic welded tuff in ascending order. Lower most andesitic part is almost fresh. The altered rocks in the rhyolitic welded tuff can be classified into the following zones: silicified, pyrophyllite-kaolin, and argillic zone from the center part of ore deposit. The clay deposits occur as irregular massive, layer and funnel type about 5~20 m in width and is accompanied by thin diaspore bed outside of ore shoot. The clays chiefly consist of kaolinite, sericite, pyrophyllite, a little amount of diaspore, alunite, dumortierite, corundum and pyrite. The process of kaolinization-pyrophyllitization has a close relation to a local acidic hydrothermal solution originated from granitic rocks. Acidic hydothermal alteration occurrs mainly in the rhyolitic welded tuff. Initial solution containing $H_2S$ and others was oxidized near the surface and formed hydrothermal sulfuric acid solution.

        지질학용어의 표기법에 대하여

        Korean geological terms were first used in Hoso dynasty (A. D. 699) and a catalogue of Korean minerals was published on the basis of the Japanese naming in 1915 as nearly 60 species. Korean geological nomenclature was published about 2000 terms in 1963. In recently year, Normally the leading language was English: equivalent were gives in Germany. Chinese and Japanese in the geological field and multitude of new terms. Although, Korean geological nomenclature were many complication of multilingual has become a traditional occupation of geologist and related field. The purpose of this reviews is to comparing about Korean naming and Japanese naming in the historical background, in addition to valid geological terms in Korean and Japanese synonyms.

        제오라이트 광물(鑛物)

        Zeolites are aluminosilicates with a three dimensional framework structure enclosing pores occupied by cation and water molecules, both of which have considerable freedom of movement within certain limits. The ability of zeolites to exchange cation is one of the mere useful of their characteristics. The ion exchange condition of zeolites strongly affects absorption as well as other properties. The application, techniques of identification and evaluation of clinoptilolite, chabazite, mordenite and phillipsite are reviewed.

        한반도(韓半島) 남부지역(南部地域)의 고령토-납석광상(鑛床) 생성기구(生成機構)

        Kaolin-pyrophyllite are locally abundant in the three hydrothermal areas at Yangsan-Tongnae area, Hadong-Sancheong area and Haenam area, deposits are originally composed of acidic volcanic rocks and anorthositic rocks in Hadong-Sancheong area. The clay deposits are formed in the near shallow depths environment through acid hydrothermal alteration. Hadong-Sancheong halloysite deposits are formed by alteration of anorthosite. These differences are mainly on the various country rocks, geological structure and properties of hydrothermal solutions. Country rock is mostly underlain by rhyolitic tuffaceous and anorthositic rocks and a large number of clay deposits were formed during volcanic activity through upper Cretaceous-lower Tertiary. Intrusive rocks is broadly distributed in this area and clay deposits are variable in shapelayer and funnel typed. Zonal pattern of mineral assemblage is as follows, Yangsan-Tongnae deposits-kaolinite, pyrophyllite, dumortierite, andalusite and sericite, Hadong-Sancheong-mostly halloysite, and Haenam-dickite, pyrophyllite, alunite and diaspore. The difference in the zonal pattern of altered rock is considered to depend on differences in the initial acidity of related hydrothermal solution, initial acidity was controlled by the oxygen fugacity.

        다이야스포아-듀모오티어라이트 광물의 열수생성 과정

        Clay minerals are locally abundant in two hydrothermal areas at Tongnae-Yangsan and Miryang, Gyong-sang-namdo, Korea. This study is done to access the clay forming processes, particularly hydrothermal alteration. Pyrophyllite-kaolin in the Zone is accompanied by sericite, diaspore mixed-layer mica/smectite, alunite, dumortierite and silica minerals. Small nodular diaspore and disseminated fine radiac dumortierite are present in the pyrophyllite-kaoline deposits, the northemly trending belt of rhyolite flows and pyroclastic rock near the intruded by granite rock of Bulkusa Series. Hydrothermal action has formed many clay deposits with a zone containing over 80~90% pyrophyllite, kaolinite, muscovite with a little amount of dumortierite, boehmite, andalusite. Most of the clay deposits occur as irregular, lenticular, massive and assosiated dumortierite was found to coexist with clay deposits. Dumortierite data are as follows: lattice constant a=11.783, b=20.209, c=4,7001, axial ratio a:b:c=0.5835 : 1 : 0.2327, XRD $d{\AA}$ 2.549, 5.89, 5.09.

        EPMA의 지질학(地質學)에의 응용(應用)

        The newly discovered minerals found during 30 years have been discovered with election microprobe analysis, and several other new minerals have been described largely on the basis of probe analysis. Widely used types of instrument are the wavelength dispersive spectrometer (WDS) and the energy dispersive Spectrometer (EDS), with emitted X-ray dispersed by a curved crystal that is arranged to satisfy the Bragg equation ($n{\lambda}=2dsin{\theta}$). Atomic Nos of Z 4 to 92 can be analyzed quantitatively if they present in amount exceeding 50~100ppm. The application of the microprobe in mineralogical and geological research is quantitative chemical analysis of grains as small as a few microns in diameter, individual grains in a rock or can be analyzed in thin section and polished section, analysis can be made comparatively short time, methods in non-destructure, to photographical and crystallographical information. This paper was written in order to document data evaluation procedure for quantitative energy dispersive election probe analysis.

        慶南 密陽 蠟石鑛床의 熱水變質作用 및 生成條件

        This is the consecutive study of mineralogy of hydrothermal deposits in the Miryang mine Kyeongsangnam-do, Korea(Chung et al. 1994). This study is carried out to examine the genesis and hydrothermal alteration of the Miryang pyrophyllite deposits. This area consists mainly of the late Cretaceous volcanic rocks which is hydrothermally altered extensively and cut by several faults of post-alteration. The area is originally composed of acidic welded tuff. The altered rocks around the pyrophyllite deposits can be classified into the following altered zones; corundum-andalusite-pyrophyllite zone, silcified zone, pyrophyllite-sericite-diaspore zone, pyrophyllite-kaolinite-sericite zone, weakly argillized zone and weakly altered zone in the order from the center to the margin. Such a zonal arrangement of altered rocks suggests that the contry rocks, most of which are acid pumiceous welded-tuffs, were altered by strongly acid hydrothermal solution.

        X線螢光分析에 依한 珪酸鹽鑛物의 分析

        螢光X線을 利用하여 珪酸鹽鑛物中의 主成分인 $SiO_2$, $Al_2O_3$, $Fe_2O_3$, CaO, MgO 및 $K_2O$를 迅速히 分析할 目的으로 試料의 處理 測定 및 各條件에 對하여 檢討하였다. 試料를 Lithium Tetraborate로 용융하여 300Mesh 以上의 微粉末로 한後 40,000Lb의 壓力으로 成型하여 Tungsten과 Chromium 對陰極의 X-線管과 LiF, EDDT, ADP의 分光結晶을 使用하여 測定하였다. 各成分에 對한 檢量曲線은 Matrix Effect를 고려하여 N.B.S 및 International Rock Standard를 選定 使用하였고 Lanthanum Oxide 및 Binder로서 Borie Acid를 첨가하여 얻었다. 各成分에 對하여 本法의 再現性 및 誤差를 檢討하기를 爲하여 I.R.S T-1을 使用하여 測定한 結果 0.47($SiO_2$), 0.85($Al_2O_3$), 0.05($Fe_2O_3$), 0.07(caO), 0.02($K_2O$), 0.13(MgO)의 標準偏差를 얻었다. 또한 化學分析植에 對한 偏差를 求하고져 Clay, Kaoline, Alunite, Wallastonite 및 Zeolite 等의 珪酸鹽鑛物을 選定하여 化學分析 및 本法에 依한 分析結果를 비교하였다. X-ray Fluorescence Spectrographic method has been applied for the rapid determination of main components, such as $SiO_2$, $Al_2O_3$, $Fe_2O_3$, CaO, MgO and $K_2O$ in Silicate Minerals. In this method, Boric Acid was used as a binder after fusion with Lithium Tetraborate in the briquet-making process. The Lithium Flubride, Ammonium di-Hydrogen Phosphate and Ethylene Diamine d-Tartrate crystals were used with Scintillation counter and Gas Flow counter as the detectors. Several influences on this method were discussed, including the particle size of samples and reducing of the matrix effects by dilution with Boric Acid and addition of Lanthanum Oxide with the diluent. In order to test the reproducibility of this method described above, the determination of the same kind of samples were carried out repeatedly, and the results obtained were presented in the table. Calibration curves for each element were presented, and the application of the method was tested with International Rock Standard T-Ⅰ. All the results obtained by X-Ray Fluorescence Spectrographic method were compared with the results by conventional chemical method.
