Since the shock of the 9.11 attack, the importance of risk management has been highly increased. Although the International Meeting Industry has been recognized as a new high value-added business and a nation strategic industry, we seemed to have neglected the nature of potential risks in meeting management. The unpredictable risks have threatened significant financial and operational damages and so on. Recently, researchers and meeting planners have begun to consider risk management as an important element in part of meeting management. This study is aimed at observing and reviewing how meeting planners, organizations and stakeholder should prepare and organize systematically against the risks and how to set up the strategic plan. In order to accomplish the aim of this study, this research is developed based on the literature review about risk factors and models. It is also offered an applicable model of risk management in the International Meeting Industry. .

Background: There are many causes for the failure of aspirin therapy in patients with acute ischemic stroke. Laboratory aspirin resistance (AR) might be involved in clinical aspirin non-response. The PFA-100 is a laboratory method to evaluate AR in the clinical setting. However, there has been limited data regarding concordance with optical platelet aggregometry, which is considered the gold standard for detecting AR. We retrospectively analyzed platelet function tests using the PFA-100 and an optical platelet aggregometer in 86 patients with acute ischemic stroke. Methods: Eighty six patients were enrolled in the study and were evaluated the platelet function test by optical aggregometer and a PFA-100. We determined the variability in the prevalence of AR and the kappa value between the two tests in patients with acute ischemic stroke. Results: Among 86 patients, 27 (31.4%) were detected as AR by the optical aggregometer and 31 (36.0%) by the PFA-100 . There were 13 cases of AR (15.1%)in both laboratory methods. The optical platelet aggregometer results showed that female gender (P =0.03), aspirin monotherapy(P =0.05), and NIHSS at baseline (P =0.04) were related with AR in acute ischemic stroke. Multiple logistic regression analysis showed that NIHSS was independently associated with AR of the optical platelet aggregometer (OR=1.12 95%, CI: 1.00-1.25,P =0.05). Conclusion: The prevalence of AR was similar between the PFA-100 and the optical platelet aggregometer in patients with acute ischemic stroke. However, the concordance rate of these two tools is low. The study presents an overview of the trends in event risks to derive event risk factors and examines how event companies in Korea percept the risks. It also discusses the complexity of defining ``risk``, ``risk factors`` and ``risk perceptions`` from operational point of view. A survey was carried out in order to achieve more realistic outcome of the study. In this survey, data were collected by the event staffs who work at event companies such as event planning agencies, professional conference organizations, convention & exhibition centers, and hotels. Total of 330 cases were used in the analysis. Following preliminary data analysis, variance and regression analysis by the application of SPSS/WIN 12.0 were used to assess construct validity and test the model`s hypotheses. The results showed that the event staffs and managers strongly indicates the importance and interest in risk for event companies. Furthermore, it notes that event risk can vary according to the frequency of event risk factors, and the level of event staff`s perception of risk. Ultimately, event risk should be managed, event companies can enhance and secure their level of service by reviving their policy and providing effective training for dealing with risk.

Customer expect to be serviced better and more precisely, and competition is trying even harder to capture market-share from other companies. Mass-Marketing no longer works: customized and indivisually tailord marketing efforts are necessary. This study is to rethink the role of the database marketing by analyzing the case of three deluxe-class hotels in Korea. It's focused on a relationship with customer, so generically we call it 'Customer Database Marketing' in this study.
