A variety of appendages are attached to coastal and offshore fishing boats to improve stability during navigation or fishing operations (stability performance and roll reduction). These appendages are generally classified into three types, which are shown in Fig. 1. The numerical calculations were conducted for the following eight cases: one case of a bare hull, three cases where a single appendage attached, three cases of a pair of appendages attached, and one case where all three appendages were attached. Table 1 presents the main dimensions of the bare hull and Table 2 describes the main dimensions of the three appendages. The fluid dynamic performance with regard to the three hull appendages was evaluated via CFD for the following cases: each of the appendages attached independently, a pair of appendages attached, and all three appendages attached simultaneously. The No. 1 appendage showed that pressure resistance was proportionally greater than friction resistances. Both Nos. 2 and 3 appendages showed comparable levels of pressure and friction resistances. The correlation between appendages was minimal in the case of pairs and . Comparing the cases of the No. 2 appendage attached and all appendages attached, at 11 kn, the EHP showed an difference of 9%. 연·근해어선들은 운항 또는 조업시 안정성(복원성능 및 횡동요 저감 성능)을 향상시키기 위해 여러 가지 부가물을 설치하며, 일반적으로 Fig. 1과 같이 세 가지로 분류할 수 있다. Bare hull을 포함하여 각 부가물이 단독으로 부착된 경우 3가지, 복수의 조합으로 부착된 경우 3가지 그리고 3가지 모두 부착된 1가지에 대하여 수치 계산을 수행하였다. Table 1은 Bare hull에 대한 주요치수를 나타낸 것이고, Table 2는 3가지 부가물에 대한 주요치수를 기술하였다. 3가지 선체 부가물에 대하여 CFD에 의한 유체동역학적 성능을 평가하였다. 각각의 부가물에 대하여 단독, 2개씩 조합된 복수 그리고 3개 모두 부착된 경우에 대하여 평가를 하였다. 1번 부가물의 경우 압력저항이 마찰저항보다 차지하는 비율이 큼을 알 수 있었다. 2번과 3번 부가물의 경우 압력저항과 마찰저항이 거의 대동소이 함을 알 수 있었다. 복수조합과 3가지 모두 부착된 경우 부가물 상호간의 상관관계는 매우 작음을 알 수 있었다. 11노트에서 2번 부가물과 모든 부가물이 부착된 경우 유효마력 관점에서 약 9% 차이를 보였다.

When it comes to commercial vehicles, their unique characteristics - center of gravity, size, weight distribution - make them particularly vulnerable to rollover. On top of that, conventional heavy vehicle brake exhibits longer actuation delays caused in part by long air lines from brake pedal to tires. This paper describes rollover prevention algorithm that copes with the characteristics of commercial vehicles. In regard of compensating for high actuating delay, predicted rollover index with short preview time has been designed. Moreover, predicted rollover index with longer preview time has been calculated by using road curvature information based on environment information. When rollover index becomes larger than specific threshold value, desired braking force is calculated in order to decrease the index. At the same time, braking force is distributed to each tire to make yaw rate track desired value.

The development of advanced magnetic resonance (MR) imaging techniques for tumors has not only lead to improved diagnostic accuracy, but has also assisted with tumor staging, surgical planning, and postoperative follow-up study. Recently introduced and/or clinically used MR imaging techniques for tumors, including chemical exchange saturation transfer imaging, molecular imaging, magnetic resonance spectroscopy, perfusion, and blood flow suppression techniques, could improve diagnostic accuracy and provide useful information to guide the management of tumors. It is essential to properly obtain and evaluate advanced MR images for tumors, depending on the specific characteristics of each tumor.

In Korea, up to date, there are no extensive and basic researchs on effectiveness of insecticides to control vectors, even there has not been established the base line data of insecticide susceptibility for the main vector of Japanese encephalitis, Culex tuitaeniorhynchus summorosus. Author carried out the insecticide susceptibility test for Culex tritaeniorhynchus larvae, which were reared from eggs laied by wild-caught adults in the vicinity of Seoul, through WHO test method during the summer of 1968. He has computed LC-??'s of three insecticides, premium-sumithion, fenthion, and tech-DDT against the vector by means of Finney's graphic approximate method. The results were summarized and compared with the results obtained in Japan and Okinawa as follows. 1. The larvae were highly susceptible to organophosphorous insecticides, sumithion and fenthion, especially to the former and they were less but considerably susceptible also to the chlorinated hydrocarbons, tech-DDT. LC-??'s of three compounds were 0.00113 ppm in sumithion, 0.00182 ppm in fenthion and 0.00935 ppm in tech-DDT. 2. Comparing LC-??'s with those of Japan and Okinawa, it can be pointed out that, to the sumithion, Seoul strain is about 3.5 times more susceptible than Japan strain, while to the fenthion, all Seoul, Japan and Okinawa strains show almost the same susceptible levels. In case of tech-DDT, Seoul strain was 7 times less susceptible than Japan strain, while it is almost as same value as Okinawa susceptible strain. 3. It is interesting to mention that Culex tritaeniorhynchus larvae of Seoul strain was susceptible to tech-DDT, for all adults of Chung-up strain of the species showed intermediate type of resistance.
