제주도 용암동굴 대섭이굴 미생물 막의 독특한 원핵미생물 군집

Cave environment provides special ecosystems for evolution of lives distant from surface environments. We investigated bacterial and archaeal communities of wall biofilm obtained from of a volcanic cave (Daesubee) in Jeju, Republic of Korea. Bacterial and archaeal 16S rRNA genes were PCR-amplified and sequenced using pyrosequencing technologies. Unique prokaryotic communities with low diversities were observed. The main bacterial sequences (ca. 83% of total reads) were affiliated with Pseudonocardia mongoliensis of phylum Actinobacteria and clustered with clones obtained from various caves. Reflection of light on the wall surface of cave might be caused by formation of beads of water caused by hydrophobic filaments of actinobacterial colonies. Main archaeal sequences (ca. 65.7% of total reads) were related with those of I.1a-Associated group of phylum Thaumarchaeota. The sequences were related with that of Candidatus Nitrosotalea devanaterra which was known to oxidize ammonia under acidic condition (ca. pH 5.0). Nutrients leached through volcanic soils contribute formation of unique microbial communities of wall biofilm of cave Daesubee. 동굴환경은 표면 토양환경과는 다른 독특한 생태계를 이루는 것으로 알려져 있다. 본 연구를 통하여 제주도 용암동굴(대섭이굴)의 생물막(biofilm)으로부터 얻은 시료를 pyrosequencing 기술을 통해 16S rRNA 유전자를 증폭하여 세균과 고세균의 군집을 조사하였다. 생물막에 우점하는 세균은 Actinobacteria문(phylum)의 Pseudonocardia mongoliensis (전체 세균 reads수의 82.5%)와 깊은 근연관계가 있었으며, 동굴유래의 다양한 세균들과 같이 무리(cluster)를 형성하였다. 동굴 벽면에 빛을 조사하였을 때 반사되어 빛나는 것은 아마도 방선균의 균사(hypha)들로 이루어진 생물막이 수분을 흡수하지 못하기 때문으로 추정된다. 우점하는 고세균은 Thaumarchaeota문의 I.1a-Associated group (전체 archaeal reads수의 약 66%)에 속한다. 이 고세균 염기서열은 산성 환경(약 pH 5.0)에서 암모니아를 산화하는 고세균으로 알려진 Candidatus Nitrosotalea devanaterra와 높은 근연관계에 있어 동굴환경에서의 질산화에 중요한 기능을 하고 있을 것으로 추정된다. 표층수가 용암토양을 투과하는 과정에서 침출(Leaching)되는 영양분이 대섭이굴 벽면에 다양성이 낮은 독특한 미생물 군집을 형성하는데 기여하고 있는 것으로 추정된다.
코퍼스 기반 플립 러닝 문법 학습 모델이 한국 EFL 학습자들의 문법 이해도에 미치는 영향

The purpose of this research is to analyze the effects of the corpus-based model of flipped learning on Korean EFL learners’ understanding of English grammar. To achieve this aim, a total of 92 Korean middle school students in their first year participated in the experiment for 7 weeks: one control group was given traditional grammar teaching, another experimental group was a flipped learning, and the last was a corpus-based flipped learning group. All experiments consisted of 6 sessions. Pre- and post-test was administered to discover the difference in the effect of grammar learning on the learners' English grammar comprehension of each group. Then, a one-way ANOVA was conducted not only to test the homogeneity between groups but also to find the impact of a corpus-based flipped classroom on learners’ understanding of English grammar. Also, all students participated in the survey and some significant improvement in sessions were shown. The result shows a significant difference between three groups statistically; the group using a corpus-based model with flipped learning significantly improved their understanding of English grammar rules. This implies that learning English grammar using corpus is more effective based on flipped learning than the other two methods; it helps learners to discover the grammatical rules in the given examples. Three practical implications of these results on corpus-based flipped learning model were discussed.
동영상 기반 영어 듣기평가의 자막 유형이 EFL 학습자의 영어 듣기 이해력에 미치는 영향 비교 분석

The aim of this study was to conduct comparative analysis of effects of subtitle types used for video-assisted English listening tests on learners’ listening comprehension. A total of 59 Korean middle school students in their 3rd year participated in the experiment, which was carried out under three conditions: (a) control group (no subtitles), (b) full subtitles, and (c) keywords. Also, in order to find interaction between types of subtitles and learners’ proficiency levels, participants were divided into three proficiency levels: (a) beginning-level, (b) intermediate-level, and (c) advanced-level. Students took a video-mediated English listening test; while students were watching five different video clips matched to their condition, they answered to 20 items given in the form of a paper-based test. The outcomes were analyzed by a two-way ANOVA analysis, and there are significant differences between the control and full subtitle group, and between the control and keyword group. In addition, the results show that full subtitles and keywords helped EFL learners’ listening comprehension in post-test. After the posttest, all students completed a questionnaire and their responses indicated that they benefited from authentic video clips regardless of subtitle types. Some practical implications of these results on English listening tests were discussed.

본 연구는 병렬 컴퓨팅 기반에서 자동화된 격자 생성 기법과 입자 군집 최적화(PSO) 알고리즘을 적용한 최적 설계 프레임워크를 개발하여 이를 인공위성 어댑터 모듈의 구조 최 적 설계에 적용하였다. 자동화된 격자 생성 기법을 적용하여 구조 형상 변화를 가능하게 함으로써 폭넓은 범위에서 최적 형상 모델을 도출할 수 있었다. 또한 최적화 알고리즘인 PSO 알고리즘을 병렬 계산환경과 접목하고, 계산 성능을 최대화하기 위해 비동기식 PSO 알고리즘을 개발하였다. 그 결과 최적화에 걸리는 계산 시간을 줄일 수 있었다. 최적화 작업에서 제한 조건으로는 고유진동수와 어댑터에 발생하는 최대 응력 값을 고려하였다. 결과적으로 인공위성 어댑터 모듈의 최적 설계를 통해 인공위성 구조 질량 감소를 유도해 내었다. In this paper, optimal design framework is developed by automatic mesh generation and PSO(Particle Swarm Optimization) algorithm based on parallel computing environment and applied to structural optimal design of satellite adapter module. By applying automatic mesh generation, it became possible to change the structural shape of adapter module. PSO algorithm was merged with parallel computing environment and for maximizing a computing performance, asynchronous PSO algorithm was developed and could reduce the computing time of optimization process. As constraint conditions, eigen-frequency and maximum stress was considered. Finally using optimal design framework, weight reduction of satellite adapter module is derived with satisfaction of structural safety.
