함안 방어산 마애여래입상의 보존처리는 마애불 전면 세척 후 균열이 심한 절리면에 충진 접착과 발수경화 처리로 이루어졌다. 세척은 불상군 위쪽에서 빗물에 의해 흘러내린 흙물 자국과 먼지 등을 압축 공기 세척기를 이용하여 일차적으로 이루어졌으며, 고온스팀 세척기는 이끼류처럼 석재표면에 깊이 뿌리를 내리고 부착생활을 하는 생물을 제거하였다. 석재표면 세척 약품인 ARTE MUNDIT No.Ⅰ의 사용은 생물학적 오염이 심한 부분에서 오염 물질 제거에 효과적이었다. 오염물질을 제거 한 결과 마애여래입상은 음각선이 아주 선명하게 드러났으며 전체적으로 암석의 색이 드러남을 확인할 수 있었다. 마애불의 균열이 심한 절리면에는 암석용 충진접합제(에폭시수시L-40)를 사용하였다. 경화제로는 Wacker OH-100을 사용하여 석재표면에 외부의 수분을 석재내부로 침투되지 않도록 하는 동시에 지반으로부터 석재 내부로 유입된 수분이 석재표면 쪽으로 잘 상승할 수 있는 발수층을 형성하였다. Conservation treatment of Buddha carved on rock surface at Bangeosan has been processed by three procedure; cleansing on whole surface of Buddha, adhesion with epoxy resins to cracks, and applying waterproof-hardener to the surface. Cleansing procedure was processed both a sprayer by compressed air and a steam blower. Subsequently, mottle, dust, and moss on the surface were effectively eliminated. ARTE MUNDIT No. 1, one of washing chemical component, showed good result for the cleansing of a became contaminated part by biological polluters. As the result of the cleansing, the intaglio lines of Buddha became sharpened and the original color of rock was recovered. L-40, adhesive filler for rock, was used on crack surface. Application of Wacker OH-100 as a waterproof-hardener, formed waterproof film on the surface of rock.

The dewaterability of a sludge can be characterized by two ways: the residual moisture centent in the sludge cake after dewatering process, and the filteration of the sludge. Time to filter (TTF) and specific resistance to filtration (SRF) represent filtration processes that are special cases of the flow through a solid matrix concept. TTF and SRF characterize a resistance to filtration. The sludge resistance, in turm, can be subdivided into resistances associated with the solid phase and the liquid phase, to evaluate the effect of each of the two phases on sludge dewaterability. The results showed that cationic polymers were more effective than anionic polymers in the dewatering characteristics of the waterworks sludge. Polymer (C-7650) was chosen for dewatering experiments of waterworks sludge. A correlation coefficient value(0.9925, n=18) between TTF and SRF was very high. As the cake solids concentration increased from 0.12 to 1.23%, the optimal dose of the polymer increased from 1 to 30 ㎎/l.
