        논문 : 잉크젯 프린터를 이용한 흑백 사진 출력 연구 - ICC 프로파일 생성을 중심으로

        As digital cameras are widely popularized, digital printing with ink-jet printers is already a general work process. However, professionals prefer silver halide photography when working with B/W(black and white) photography. It is because of the problems that occurs when B/W photography is printed with ink-jet printers, like degradation in the high tone and low tone, posterization effect, difficulties in reproducing neutral gray. Until now, buying a RIP(Raster Image Processor) or an ink designed for the printing additionally was the only way to fix the problems. It caused extra expense, and had limits to be used widely, which precluded the generalization of B/W printing with ink-jet printers. This study therefore suggests a method to correspond the silver halide photography`s tone reproduction with each zones from the zone system of silver halide photography, in order to print digital B/W photography with rich tone. Also, it adopts the concept of CMS(Color Management System) to print neutral colors accurately in the digital color system. And the study proposes how to make an appropriate target to solve problems that could happen when B/W printing digitally. The target fits the ICC(international Color Consortium) Profile specification, which enables digital image works easy, and I expect many photographers would produce high quality ink-jet B/W prints.
