The purpose of this research is to develop a model and index that can objectively evaluate the competitiveness of exhibition industries in different countries. This research suggests a new model based on national competitiveness research and variables in other service industries. Delphi Technique and AHP have been used for this purpose. 25 Delphi panels from the exhibition industry were selected for the 1st, 2nd, and the 3rd round survey. In order to calculate the weighted value for the final items, 4th survey was done on 12 Delphi panels. Throughout this process, 109 items for 7 upper categories in the initial model were eventually developed into 65 items for 6 upper categories. The final model for competitiveness is to indicate the size of a country’s exhibition industry, and countries can be compared the size of their exhibition industries by measuring total items. The significance of this research is that it identified the items of exhibition industry and created a model to evaluate its competitiveness, which was previously unavailable. Based on competitiveness theory the academic meaning of this research is to form the frame which can evaluate the competitiveness for exhibition industry. These results have many implications to be used for policy making as well as on working level.
