Alkali-Cation-Intercalated Vanadate Nanofibers for Aqueous Zinc-ion Battery Application

Cation pre-intercalated vanadate have received a lot of attention as cathode materials of aqueous zinc-ion batteries owing to high theoretical capacity and enhanced electron transfer by pre-intercalated cation. For lithium-ion batteries, the pre-intercalated cations in vanadate layers improve the cyclic stability because intercalated cations prevent the structural collapse. However, the interaction between the preintercalated cations and zinc-ion charge carriers has not been reported in zinc-ion batteries field. In this study, 3 types of alkali-cation (NH4+, Na+ and K+) pre-intercalated vanadate nanofibers were synthesized by a simple sonochemical method. The electrochemical interactions between zinc ions, pre-intercalated cation species and vanadate layer during charge/discharge was figured out through electrochemical and physical analysis. As a result, the cycle stability of zinc-ion battery was improved as the ion radius of the intercalated cation increases.
Obstacle Avoidance Path Planning based on Output Constrained Model Predictive Control

Image processing and control technologies have been widely studied and autonomous vehicles have become an active research area. For autonomous driving, it is essential to generate a safe obstacle avoidance path considering the surrounding environment. This paper devised an algorithm based on a real-time output constrained model predictive control for obstacle avoidance path planning in high speed driving situations. The proposed algorithm was compared with the normal model predictive control algorithm by simulation, including operation times to verify robustness for high speed driving situations. We used the ISO 2631-1 comfort level standard to quantify driver comfort fo r both cases.

A stomal varix is an uncommon complication with a high mortality rate occurring secondary to portal hypertension in patients with a stoma. We describe a case of recurrent stomal varix bleeding successfully managed by balloon occluded retrograde transvenous obliteration using sodium tetradecyl sulfate foam.

식도의 방추세포암종은 매우 드문 악성 종양으로 암종요소와 육종요소를 모두 가지고 있는 것이 특징이며 이로 인해 명명하는데 있어 많은 문제가 있어왔다 특징적으로 식도중간부에 크기가 매우 크고 소엽성표면을 가진 폴립양종괴를 형성하고 이로 인한 식도의 국소팽창이 특징이다. 또한 크기가 큰 종괴임에도 불구하고 식도의 완전한 패색은 잘 일으키지 않는다 국내 문헌에 영상소견에 대한 보고가 없고 특히 MPI 나 CT소견에 관해서는 보고된 바가 없어 저자들이 경험한 1예를 문헌 고찰과 함께 보고하고자 한다. Spindle-cell carcinoma of the esophagus is a rare malignant tumor composed of both carcinomatous and stircomatous elements, and has generated many terminology Problems. It is characterized by a bulky Polypoid intraluminal mass with a lobulated surface located in the middle third of the esophagus. Local expansion of this organ is observed. The lesion may be pedunculated but despite its bulk, causes little obstruction. We report the imaging findings of a case of spindle-cell carcinoma arising in the upper esophagus.

We report here on a case of intracapsular and paraarticular chondroma of the left knee in a patient with a 6-month history of knee pain and swelling. Magnetic resonance image (MRI) revealed a well-defined solid mass with central hemorrhagic necrosis in the infrapatellar area of the knee. 관절내 및 관절강내 연골종은 매우 드문 양성 종양으로 주로 슬관절에 발생한다. 6개월간의 좌측 슬관절 동통과 종창을 주소로 내원한 38세 남자가 자기공명영상에서 슬관절 내부에 경계가 분명하며 출혈성 괴사를 동반한 고형 종괴가 관찰되었고 병리학적으로 관절강내 및 관절주위 연골종으로 진단 되었기에 문헌 고찰과 함께 보고하고자 한다.
Validation of OpenDrift-Based Drifter Trajectory Prediction Technique for Maritime Search and Rescue

Due to a recent increase in maritime activities in South Korea, the frequency of maritime distress is escalating and poses a significant threat to lives and property. The aim of this study was to validate a drift trajectory prediction technique to help mitigate the damages caused by maritime distress incidents. In this study, OpenDrift was verified using satellite drifter data from the Korea Hydrographic and Oceanographic Agency. OpenDrift is a Monte-Carlo-based Lagrangian trajectory modeling framework that allows for considering leeway, an important factor in predicting the movement of floating marine objects. The simulation results showed no significant differences in the performance of drift trajectory prediction when considering leeway using four evaluation methods (normalized cumulative Lagrangian separation, root mean squared error, mean absolute error, and Euclidean distance). However, leeway improved the performance in an analysis of location prediction conformance for maritime search and rescue operations. Therefore, the findings of this study suggest that it is important to consider leeway in drift trajectory prediction for effective maritime search and rescue operations. The results could help with future research on drift trajectory prediction of various floating objects, including marine debris, satellite drifters, and sea ice.

We describe a neonatal case of congenital pyriform sinus fistula complicated by pneumothorax and pneumopericardium and review the literature. 신생아에서 양배꼴동 누공과 병발한 기흉과 심막기종을 경험하였기에 문헌고찰과 함께 보고하고자 한다.
