        STS304 Mesh의 전기화학 폴리싱에 의한 친수효과를 이용한 자가세정 평가

        This paper describes the self-cleaning characteristics on contaminated surfaces by maximizing the surface energy. There are several processes to control the surface energy. Among them, electrochemical polishing (ECP) can produce a hydrophilic effect by polishing the surface through an electrochemical reaction without any coating on the surface. In this paper, we analyzed the self-cleaning effect by ECP of the STS304 mesh. The machined surface was measured with an atomic force microscope (AFM), optical microscope, contact angle meter, and scanning electron microscope (SEM). As the surface roughness is improved, the contact angle approaches 0°, which indicates the possibility of self-cleaning enhanced by the hydrophilic effect.

        Bonding properties on diffusion bonding layer for micro PCD-WC tool fabrication

        This paper demonstrates the fabrication process of precision machining tools from polycrystalline diamond (PCD) attached on tungsten carbide (WC) tips and WC shanks via diffusion bonding with a nickel alloy filler metal. The join was investigated using micro X-ray computed tomography (micro-CT), and the strength of the bond was measured via tensile strength tests. Diffusion bonding was carried out with various pressures and various time durations. The micro-CT results showed that the nickel alloy filler metal between the PCDWC composite tip and WC shank disappeared at higher pressures. Voids were observed if the pressure was too low or the time duration for bonding was not enough. The presence of these voids can result in insufficient bonding force of the join, and hence leads to unpredictable failure of the tool. The pressure was found to affect the properties of the bond more significantly than the bonding time. Diffusion bonding with high quality joins between PCD-WC and WC can be achieved at relatively low temperature under 1000 ºC through high pressure around 24 MPa and relatively long bonding time durations.

        The purpose of this study was to provide basic materials needed to enhance quality of organizational life by identifying the improvements of labor union management in the perspective of general hospital organization management. The subject of this study were 686 employees in 12 General Hospitals in Metro Capital including Seoul. Materials were collected from administrators, nurses and medical technicians in target hospitals from March 20 to May 10, 2005 through survey questionnaires. The main results of this study were as follows: 1. the commitment level of the subjects according to their characteristics was higher in older employees than the younger ones, large family to support than small family to support and those who had higher positions in labor union. 2. The commitment level of the subjects according to the job and role related variables were higher those who had higher satisfaction level to their job and manager, role conflict in all hospitals. 3. The commitment level of the subjects according to union related variables, variables jointly controlled by union and employer was satistically significant positive correlation. In other words, the commitment level of the subjects according to the subjects' labor union involvement was higher in those who had higher satisfaction in labor union and perceived their colleagues' attitudes more positively in all hospitals. Regarding the atmosphere of the relationship between union and employer and the level of commitment in labor union, the better the atmosphere of the relationship between union and employer was, the higher the level of commitment in labor union was in all hospitals. 4. The results of multiple regression analysis shows that formal and informal socialization, union participation to the union management cooperation program, job satisfaction, satisfaction with the labor union's were all found as important antecedents of labor union commitment. 5. Job and role-related variables, union-related variables, variables jointly controlled by union and employer, and labor union commitment level were all found significantly different in accordance with the characteristics of unions concerned. To summarize study results, the level of commitment in labor union depends on job satisfaction, manager's attitudes, satisfaction to their jobs, union satisfaction, their colleagues attitudes toward union and the atmosphere of employer-employee relationship. Therefore hospital managers should have democratic and flexible attitudes toward labor union. Additionally, as formal and informal socialization, union participation to the union-management cooperation program is important determinant in union commitment, hospital managers should have countermeasures to enhance the colleague attitude and job satisfaction level of hospital employees. Since this study deals with psychological nature of workers not a few drawbacks and shortcomings may be detected in the finding. Nevertheless, the finding of this study, to become a momentum that will stimulate further research to detect all the cues of labor union commitment and to provide valuable reference in forming logical union commitment and labor union-management cooperation.

        SBR/Organoclay Nanocomposites for the Application on Tire Tread Compounds

        N,N-dimethyldodecylamine (tertiary amine)-modified MMT (DDA-MMT) was prepared as an organically modified layered silicate (OLS), after which styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR) nanocomposites reinforced with the OLS were manufactured via the latex method. The layer distance of the OLS and the morphology of the nanocomposites were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). By increasing the amount of N,N-dimethyldodecylamine (DDA) up to 2.5 g, the maximum values of torque, tensile strength and wear resistance of the SBR nanocomposites were increased due to the increased dispersion of the silicate layers in the rubber matrix and the increased crosslinking of the SBR nanocomposites by DDA itself. When SBR nanocomposites were manufactured by using the ternary filler system (carbon black/silica/OLS) to improve their dynamic properties as a tire tread compound, the tan δ (at 0 ℃ and 60 ℃) property of the compounds was improved by using metal stearates instead of stearic acid. The mechanical properties and wear resistance were increased by direct substitution of calcium stearate for stearic acid because the filler-rubber interaction was increased by the strong ionic effect between the calcium cation and silicates with anionic surface. However, as the amount of calcium stearate was further increased above 0.5 phr, the mechanical properties and wear resistance were degraded due to the lubrication effect of the excessive amount of calcium stearate. Consequently, the SBR/organoclay nanocomposites that used carbon black, silica, and organoclay as their ternary filler system showed excellent dynamic properties, mechanical properties and wear resistance as a tire tread compound for passenger cars when 0.5 phr of calcium stearate was substituted for the conventionally used stearic acid.

        High‑Quality Surface Finishing of Industrial Three‑Dimensional Metal Additive Manufacturing Using Electrochemical Polishing

        Three-dimensional (3D) additive manufacturing technologies are useful for building various and complicated shapes. Representative technologies include laser metal deposition and selective laser sintering that make metal powders melt in order to form diverse 3D structures. Although numerous well-known advantages of 3D additive manufacturing, they still have some difficulties in surface quality improvement for further applications such as food or biomedical industries because they cause rough surfaces, discoloration, unmelted particles by repeated instant dissolution and solidification of metal particles. This paper introduces an electrochemical polishing (or electropolishing, ECP) process as a possible finishing process for 3D printed parts. Conventional finishing processes including mechanical finishing can hardly polish 3D curved surface readily. In ECP, the tool electrode and the work sample are not in contact with each other. All electrically connected surface exposed to electrolyte are subject to be polished. The printed product performs in a current density region higher than the conventional current density, thereby activating the electrochemical reaction and promoting the dissolution of the metal surface, thereby smoothly polishing a very rough surface. Surface quality including roughness, splashed particle spots, smoothness, brightness, light reflection and corrosion resistance were improved by ECP. Experimental results were analyzed by scanning electron microscopy, optical and detailed atomic force microscopy images according to various ECP electrical conditions.

      • 진동 전기화학 폴리싱 (VECP)의 재료제거 특성

        Vibration electrochemical polishing (VECP) have improved quality than typical electrochemical polishing (ECP). ECP occur micro pits by phenomenon generator during processing. Micro pits have a catastrophic at product life generating corrosion and bacterial. So, ECP is improved the surface quality using hybrid process to combined of vibration in recent. However, VECP was not verified for material removal ratio (MRR). Conventional ECP and VECP are needed to compare. In this paper, we confirm material removed properties in ECP and VECP according to current density. Machined surface measured surface using the Alpha step. We found that it improved material removal of VECP than ECP.
