In the event of a vehicle collision, the kinetic energy of the colliding vehicles can cause sever injuries to the passengers if the vehicle body is too strong and the passengers bounced out of the vehicle due to inertia. If the vehicle body absorbs considerable collision energy, the passengers might get trapped inside, causing their death. Therefore, when a vehicle crashes, the structural members of its body must efficiently absorb the collision energy and secure space. In this study, a single hat-shaped cross-section member and a double-hat cross-section member has been used for the side member of an automobile that absorbs most of the collision energy during a vehicle collision event. Following the designing and manufacturing of the steel and carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) material structural members, the axial collapse test was performed to investigate the collapse mode and energy absorption characteristics based on their shape and material changes.

This research addresses the influences of creativity on quality management activities and business performance in service firms. Creativity of senior managers and organization is a major focal point for innovative quality management activities and high performance in nowadays. The research model suggested in this paper includes creativity of senior managers and organization, factors of quality management and business performance. Several hypotheses about relationships among them are suggested and tested empirically. The data are gathered from the firms which had award and certification recipients in quality management. We use 220 questionnaires for the final analysis. Consequently, creativity of senior managers and organization positively affects quality management factors and high business performance. Idea generation ability of organizational creativity doesn`t have an impact on quality management operational factors(human resources, measurement, analysis and knowledge management, and process) but on quality management driving factors(leadership, strategic planning, and customer and market focus). Problem solving ability of organizational creativity influences both factors of quality management. These factors of quality management affect financial performance via nonfinancial performance significantly.

Recent technology and instrumentation in terahertz waves have provided a reliable field in the electromagnetic spectrum, which is explored for material evaluation and composite testing. Here, we report an investigation of terahertz waves (T-ray) for the nondestructive evaluation of various materials, such as composite materials and lumbers. The T-ray system uses time domain spectroscopy (TDS) and continuous wave. The various materials and composites investigated include non-conducting materials and composites. Terahertz signals in the TDS mode are similar to that of ultrasound; however, unlike ultrasound, a terahertz pulse can detect a smaller crack hidden behind a larger crack without the shadow effect. These exterminations were demonstrated in thick glass fiber reinforced plastics (GFRP) laminates using saw slots and flat bottom holes. Additionally, two prepared lumbers were investigated using the TDS system through image analysis and refractive index measurement. The effectiveness and limitations of T-ray for the NDE of composites are discussed.

The development of internet and smartphone services leads to various cultural changes in society. The rate of these changes appears to be increasing, and companies should innovate their management systems and strengthen the efficiency to continuously face transition in industry environments. Continuous innovations is known to be a critical factor in the sustainability of business. Managing conflicts between the employees who endorse change and the employees who want to maintain the current system is crucial for successive innovation.In addition, delivering management philosophy to employees appropriately and building the company`s own culture through effective communication and close interaction between management and employee group is also critical.Research was done to determine an analysis on the effects of corporate entrepreneurship on incremental innovation and management performance. The subjects of this research were limited to insurance company, stock firm and financial institions. The program used to analyze of the collected data was SPSS 21.0. Collected data was examined to measure frequency analysis, exploratory factor analysis, regression analysis and comfimatory factor analysis from SPSS 21.0 program.This study points a way forward in the direction of new enterprises for a creative era. First, We conclude that enterpreneurship affects incremental innovation. Second, Corperations should try to support a gradual inovation culture because incremental inovation has positive results. The third, To create incremental innovation culture and enterprenuership, the organization`s culture and characteristics will have a direct and important influence. Therefore, a corperation ought to encourage the mood of enterprising company practices that adapt new ideas and increase open communication.

생산 및 고객 특성별 중소 제조 기업의 핵심 역량 비교

보유하고 있는 자원이 소수로 제한적이고 환경이 열악한 중소 제조 기업은 자신의 핵심 역량을 발굴하여 선택하고 집중함으로써 경쟁력을 확보해 나가는 것이 기업 경영의 성장과 지속성을 유지해 나가는 지름길이다. 이러한 관점에서 중소 제조 기업의 특성에 맞는 핵심 역량을 도출하고 우선순위를 결정하는 것은 매우 중요한 것이다. 본 연구에서는 경기도에 소재하고 있는 중소 제조 기업을 대상으로 핵심 역량을 도출하고 핵심 역량 모델을 제시하고자 한다. 또한 애로 역량을 동시에 파악함으로써 중소 제조 기업이 제한된 자원을 집중하여 시급하게 우선적으로 강화해야 할 역량을 밝혀내고자 한다. 기존의 많은 연구가 기업의 업종, 업력, 규모 등의 분류 기준에 의해 이루어진 것과 달리 기업의 고객유형별, 납품방식별, 생산 프로세스별, 전략유형 등의 기준에 따른 핵심 역량과 애로 역량을 파악하여 현실적이고 실용적인 중소 제조 기업의 경쟁력 강화 방안을 제시하고자 한다. 결과적으로 기술 역량과 CEO 역량이 가장 시급하고 중요하게 육성되어야 할 역량으로 파악됨에 따라 이에 대한 다양한 육성방안 및 프로그램 제공이 필요하다. This research suggests the approach method to preferentially search and improve core competencies of small and middle manufacturing companies in Korea. The middle-small size companies that have very limited internal resources, should concentrate on their core competencies for growth and sustainability of business. In this scope, it is the most important thing to deduct the core competency’s order of priority for reinforcement. In first, we deduct the core competencies, Secondly suggest the model of core competency for the middle-small size companies. Additionally as we deduct the bottleneck competencies of them, we are going to determine the order of priority through the comparison of core and bottleneck competencies. In this process, we deduct core and bottleneck competencies by using the differentiated criteria of customer, manufacturing, manufacturing process and strategy types. But much studies were accompanied by company size, types of business, period of business and so on. But we suggest the practical approach for reinforcement of competitiveness. Consequently, the results show the practical implications and the order of priority for competencies reinforcement.

기업의 품질성과와 재무성과의 관계 연구

본 연구조사에서는 지난 10여 년간 품질혁신활동을 통해 국가 품질상을 수상한 52개 기업을 대상으로 재무성과를 비교 분석 하여, 국가품질상의 수상이 기업의 재무성과에 미치는 효과를 분석해 보았다. 비교 분석의 대상으로는 국가 품질상 수상기업과 업종이 동일하고 기업의 규모가 유사한 52개의 비교기업과 국가품질상을 수상한 기업간에 비교가 가능한 객관적 재무지표를 정량적으로 분석해 봄으로써 국가품질상 수상기업의 성공적인 품질경영활동 수행이 재무성과에 미치는 효과를 분석한다. 국가품질상 수상 기업과 비교기업 간의 재무성과 차이를 분석하기에 앞서 먼저 품질과 유의한 관계를 가지는 재무지표들을 통계적으로 추출하기 위해 시도한 2002년 이후 국가품질상 (종합상) 수상기업의 국가품질상 평가 총점과 재무지표 간 상관분석 결과, 총 85개 셀에서 국가품질상 평가 총점과 재무지표 간 유의한 상관관계가 발견되었으며, 그 85개 셀을 중심으로 수상기업과 비교기업의 재무지표 차이를 독립표본 t-검정으로 분석해 보았다. 6가지 재무성과 비율지표(안정성, 활동성, 수익성, 생산성, 성장성, 시장가치)를 기준으로 한 수상기업과 비교기업의 차이분석 결과를 통해 본 연구는 품질경영 활동의 성공적 수행이 재무성과에 미치는 효과를 파악했다. 구체적으로 국가품질상 평가 총점과 재무지표 간 유의한 상관관계가 발견된85개 셀 중 73개 셀(85.9%)에서 품질상 수상기업이 비교기업 보다 우월한 재무성과를 보이며 그 차이가 통계적으로 유의한 것으로 분석되었다. 또한 나머지 12개 셀중 9개 셀에서 통계적으로 유의하지는 않지만 수상기업이 비교기업보다 높은 재무성과를 보이는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 국가품질상 세부 평가항목과 재무지표 간 상관관계 분석결과는 단순히 국가품질상 세부평가 항목들의 타당성을 검증하는 차원을 넘어, 품질활동과 재무성과와의 관련성을 기초로 각 세부 성과평가항목들의 가중치배점 조정의 근거자료로 활용할 수 있다는 점에서 상당한 실무적 의의가 있다고 판단된다. This study analyzed the relationship between the successful implementation of quality management activity and financial performance by investigating comparatively the financial performances of 52 firms which have achieved National Quality Award during last 10 years. For this, this paper first implemented correlation analysis between the total evaluation points of 52 NQA winners and 34 indices in 6 financial performance areas in order to extract statistically financial indices which have significant correlation with quality improvement. And then, differences in financial performances between 52 winners and 52 non-winners of NQA were investigated by independent T-test. As a result, this paper finds that in 73 cells (85.9%) among the 85 cells of financial indices which have significant correlation with total NQA evaluation points, NQA winners are statistically superior to non-NQA winners. This means that the successful implementation of quality management activity may have significant influence on financial performance, thus identifying the value of continuous effort for quality improvement.
