In recent years, interest in teh phenomenon of Work-related stress has increased markedly. The popularity of stress as a research topic among Organizational behavior and industrial psychology may be attributed to the undesirables effects which stress may lead to standing of stress and to present management strateges of stress. For the purpose of study, it has examined background on stress and result of empirical study. Stress is defined as a deviation from normal Psychological or psysiclogical functioning caused by exgencies in teh individual's immediate environment. The cause of stress can be categorized into organizational, individual stress. Individual differ in their ability to tolerate stress and in their reactions to it. To the individual, too much stress can lead to breakdown in mental or psysical health. To the organization, Stress means increased job dissatisfaction, avoidance behavior as absenteeism and turnover, breakdowns in job performance, and decrements in organizational commitment A number of individual and Organizational strategies have been offered for the prevention and alleviation of stress. Relaxation, flight and flee, health assessment and care, behavioral self control are some portentially useful coping strategies that individuals can apply to help combat existing stress. Effective organizational stress management include create a supportive organizational climate, enrich the design of tasks, reduce conflict and clarify organizational roles, job evaluation. Whether on an individual or an organizational level, steps need to be taken to prevent or reduce stress. Particularty, management should invest effort ot discover how employee and organizational stress could be reduced for better results.
