        적엽 및 제협처리가 콩의 건물축적에 미치는 영향

        콩의 생식생장기인 착협시(R3)에 상부 40%와 하부 60%로 구분하여 엽제거와 협제거 처리에 의한 엽수와 엽건물중, 종실부와 종실건물중, 그리고 협과 경건물중에 미치는 영향을 구명하기 위하여 1992년 고려대학교 자연자원대학 적소실험농장에 황금콩을 공시하여 실시한 시험결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 1. 상엽하협제거처리로 식물체 하부의 엽수와 엽건물중이 증가되었다. 2. 종실부와 종실건물중은 상엽하협제거로 감소되었다. 3. 상엽하협제거는 하부의 경건물중을 증가시켰으나 상부의 협건물종은 감소시켰다. 4. 상엽하협제거에서 엽/종실 비율은 3.53로 가장 높았고 수수지수는 27%로 가장 낮았다. 5. 하엽상협제거는 상엽하협제거보다 동화질의 전류량이 많았다. Effects of leaf and pod removal on changes in leaf and seed number, and leaf, seed, pod and stem dry weight of soybean [Glycine max (L,) Merr.] cultivar ‘Hwangkeumkong’ were measured at the research farm of Korea University in 1992. The upper 40% and lower 60% of leaves and pods were subjected to treatments at the growth stage of beginning pod(R3). Leaf number and dry weight of lower part were increased by upper leaf-lower pod removal, but seed number and dry weight were decreased. Upper leaf-lower pod removal increased lower stem dry weight and decreased upper pod dry weight. Leaf-seed ratio of the upper leaf-lower pod removal was the highest with 3.54 and harvest index was the lowest with 27% among the treatments. Lower leaf-upper pod removal showed that more assimilates from upper leaves were translocated to lower seeds than from lower leaves to upper seeds in upper leaf-lower pod removal treatment.

        Effects of temperature, soil water potential, and seed applied super slurper on germination and seedling elongation of soybeans and sunflowers

        Germination and seedling elongation of soybeans(cults : ‘Essex’ and ‘Williams’), and sunflowers cults. ‘Seed Tec’ 327 and ‘SIGCO 449’) were measured at three temperatures(15.0, 22.5, and 30.0 C) and four soil water potentials(-1.80, -0.50, -0.04, and 0.02 MPa), with and without treatment with super slurper. Measurements were made at 0, 1, 2, 4, and 8 days. Seedling moisture uptake and seedling development were affected by temperature, soil water potential, and cultivar of each of the two species. Super slurper did not significantly affect seedling growth. Highly significant positive correlations were found between seedling moisture content and seedling length. Negative correlations were found between seedling dry weight and the other dependent variables. Multiple regression equations for seedling moisture content of two species were developed as a function of cultivar, temperature, soil water potential, and interaction terms in germination time. Soybeans required more time to achieve the initial one cm of seedling length than sunflowers at the lower soil water potential(-1.80 MPa), but less time at the high soil water potential(-0.02 MPa).

        Effects of temperature and PEG solution on germination and seedling elongation in corn hybrids and inbreds

        Germination and seedling elongation of three hybrids and their five inbreds of corn [Suwon 19 : KS 5 x KS 6, Hoengsongok : (KS 15 x KS 16) KS 5, and Jinjuok : (KS 15 x KS 16) Ga 209]were measured at two temperatures (15 and 30 C) and four polyethylene glycol (PEG) 10,000 solutions (0, 20, 30 and 35g/100gH₂o). Adjustments of PEG 10,000 solutions were based on water potentials of 0.0, -0.5, -1.1 and -1.5 MPa at room temperature. Observations were taken at 3, 6, 9 and 12 days for 15 C and 1, 2, 3 and 4 days for 30C. Fifteen seeds of each of three corn hybrids and their five inbreds were placed on Whatman No. 1(9cm) filter paper in plastic petridishes, and adjusted to 15 ml of the proper PEG 10,000 solution supplemented with 0.2 percent thiram using automatic syringe. The dishes were covered with cap. The seeds were germinated at a constant temperature of 15 or 30 C under dark conditions for programmed period. Seedling moisture content and seedling length of three corn hybrids and their five inbeds were decreased as PEG concentration increased both at 15 and 30C. Varietal differences in seedling moisture content and seedling length of corn were found among eight hybrids and inbreds at temperatures of 15 and 30 C. Mean seedling moisture content of inbred KS 16 showed the highest, and inbred KS 15 was observed the lowest among eight hybrids and inbreds. however, mean seedling lengths of three hybrids were greater than inbreds from 20 to 30g/100g water of PEG concentrations. Hybrid Jinjuok showed the greatest mean seeding length among three hybrids. The results of this study indicated that germination test of corn seeds in aqueous solutions of PEG has potential for screening corn genotypes for improved emergence at moisture stress.

        산지가 다른 고구마 품종의 저장중 화학성분 변화

        고구마 품종들의 저장중 품질성분 함량을 탐색하여 고품질 품종 육성에 기초자료로 제공하고자 경기도 화성과 수원에 여섯개의 장려품종을, 매매하여 전분가, glucose, fructose, maltose 및 sucrose함량을 조사한 바 그 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 1. 전분가는 두 지역에서 모두 신율미가 가장 높았다. 2. Glucose와 fructose 함량은 품종간 지역간 변이가 심했다. 3. 두 지역 모두 maltose함량은 신율미가 가장 높았고 sucrose함량은 율미가 가장 높았다. 4. 총당함량은 식용품종인 신율미와 율미가 높았다. 5. 저장기간중 전분가, glucose, fructose, maltose 및 Sucrose함량의 큰 변화는 없었으나 지역간 차이가 있었다. This experiment was conducted to obtain the basic information of the major chemical components for breeding high quality varieties of sweet potatoes [Ipomoea batatas (L) Lamk]. Six recommended varieties were cultivated at the experimental plots of Hwasung and Suwon in 1992. Starch value. glucose, fructose, maltose, and sucrose content were analyzed with time intervals during storage period. Starch value of Shinyulmi was the highest among six varieties in both locations. Glucose and fructose contents were appeared wide variations in varieties and locations. Shinyulmi showed the highest maltose content and Yulmi had the highest sucrose content in two locations. Total sugar contents were higher in Shinyulmi and Yulmi. Starch value, glucose, fructose, maltose, and sucrose content were stable during storage period, however these were differed between locations.
