韓國傳統文樣의 再照明과 컴퓨터를 利用한 産業木工藝品 開發에 관한 硏究 : 박쥐문양을 중심으로

우리나라 전통문양(傳統文樣, 傳統紋樣)은 대체적으로 인간의 무병장수(無病長壽)를 기원하는 의미의 문양들이 주류를 이루고 있다. 십장생(十長生), 박쥐등의 길상(吉祥)문양과 악귀를 물리치기 위한 의미의 문양들이 우리 일상생활 속에 깊숙이 자리하고 있으며, 궁궐의 기둥이나 기와 각종생활용품에서 번영(繁榮), 권세(權勢), 높은 기상, 장생불로(長生不老), 수호(守護), 고결한 인품 등의 의미를 담은 문양들이 새겨져 있음을 여러 문헌(文獻)과 남아 있는 우리의 아름다운 문화유산(文化遺産)에서 찾아 볼 수 있으며, 전통문양들이 현대에서도 각종 악세사리나 기념품, 공예품에 널리 사용되고 있다. 이러한 문양들은 과거(過擧)의 시대적(時代的) 상황이나 관습(慣習)을 기초로 도안된 것이기 때문에 우리의 전통 문양을 현대적 감각에 맞게 재조명해 볼 필요성이 있다. 특히 우리나라 전통 길상문양 중에서도 박쥐는 한자표기로 편복이라고 쓰는데 이때 사용된 편복의 복이 복(福)과 같이 소리 난다고 해서 일찍부터 다산(多産), 다복(多福), 행복(幸福)의 상징으로 여겨져 왔으며, 신혼부부의 베개, 궁궐의 상량정이나 굴뚝, 조선시대(朝鮮時代) 청화백자, 연적, 노리개, 박쥐문양 투각상, 마루의 난간등에 박쥐문양을 그리거나 투각을 해서 사용한 유물들이 전해진다. 따라서 본 연구(硏究)에서는 우리나라의 전통문양중 박쥐문양을 중심으로 연구함은 물론 아름다운 전통문양의 계승(繼承), 발전(發展)을 위하여 보다 현대적이고 미적 아름다움을 살린 문양을 개발(Photoshop 과 Illustrator Program을 이용)하였다. 아울러 널리 보급된 컴퓨터의 3D기법(技法)을 이용하여 가상의 목공예품을 디자인해 봄으로써 실제로 만들었을 때 발생될 수 있는 문제점(問題點)과 장점을 미리 예측(豫測)하여 제시해보고, 얇게 재단된 목재에 레이저조각기(Laser engraver)를 이용하여 문양을 투각(透刻) 교체함으로써 정교하면서도 다양한 색상을 나타낼 수 있는 방법을 연구하여 현대적 감각(感覺)에 맞는 목공예품의 개발 가능성(可能性)을 모색(摸索)하였다. Korean traditional patterns are mostly made to wish human a healthy and long life. In our daily lives the patterns on Ten Objects for Long Life, bat pattern and patterns of repelling a ghost and demon are frequently used. As the diverse old documents illustrate that especially the patterns wishing a healthy and long life, prosperity, and good luck were engraved on columns in a palace and tiles as well as articles of daily necessities, and are still observed in many of our beautiful traditional cultural assets. In present days these traditional patterns, and are used for various accessories, souvenirs and crafts. As these patterns were designed according to the situations and custom of those days, however, we need to modify these traditional patterns according to modern sense. The patterns, which can show the meaning of the pattern in the past and take over our traditional culture and good public morals, and express aesthetic sense as they are more familiar and close to modern people with modern sense, are badly needed. As computers and peripherals have been developed dramatically due to the advanced scientific technology today, we craftsmen are sincerely asked to think that they need to create works for ourselves, but most of us only stick to the old methods or just copied the traditional patterns and used as they are. So, I, as one of craftsmen who study wooden crafts, would like to argue that we have to reflect on our conduct and make strong efforts to create works. In addition, we will do our best to make contribution to develop our wooden crafts. This study is intended to revise the traditional patterns into more modern and emotional ones to take over beauty of our traditional patterns and develop them. And furthermore this study introduces a computer utilized 3D method to predict the problems and good points about a work when it is actually made. It also aims to examine the possibility to develop crafts of modern sense, as I design patterns again by using PHOTOSHOP and ILLUSTRATOR program, and project the patterns to the thin wooden panel with laser generator, so that patterns can be expressed with various colors rather than simple ones and can be made of materials other than wood. In addition, this study is intended to develop crafts such as souvenirs and home accessories by applying various patterns, which are our beautiful traditional cultural heritage, to our everyday life and developing them.

木材 및 木質材料의 휨 加工技法을 이용한 産業木工藝品 開發에 관한 硏究

다변화, 다양화되어 가는 현대인의 공예문화에 대한 관심은 재료, 형태 적인 측면과 실용적인 측면, 기능적인 면을 적절히 구비한 공예품으로 기울어지고 있다. 특히, 재료의 다양한 활용에 대한 부분은 제작 및 새로 운 기법의 개발로 발전할 수 있으며, 이는 곧 우수한 공예품의 개발로 이어져 저변확대에도 긍정적인 역할을 할 수 있다. 목재를 이용하여 곡선형태를 표현하는 장르는 예부터 가구디자인을 비 롯하여 여러 가지 민속공예품, 토산 공예품 등에 널리 시도되어 왔고, 또 한 제작되기도 하였다. 그러나 과거에는 목재의 제재기술과 방법, 기계의 낙후성 등으로 그 표현에 한계가 있었으나 현대에 와서는 대량생산을 위 한 재료의 무한공급, 발전된 기술, 우수한 기계 등으로 목재의 휨 가공 표현이 수월해 졌다. 본고에서는 목재의 무늬와 고유문양을 최대한 활용하여 산업공예품을 개발, 제작하고자 하며, 목재의 휨 가공기법을 이용함으로서 재료의 절감 효과, 휨 가공기법의 새로운 시도, 목재특유의 색채와 질감표현을 극대화 시키고자 한다. 작품의 소재는 현대인들이 여가생활의 한 축으로 자리 잡은 관광과 레 저, 각종 문화예술축제, 지역적 특성을 살린 이벤트성 행사 등의 성격과 부합되는 관광공예품, 여러 가지 산업공예품 등을 대상으로 선택하였다. 작품에 이용된 문양과 무늬는 한국의 전통문양 중 가장 대중적이고 한 국의 이미지를 직접 전달할 수 있는 자연물의 응용문양, 식물문양, 한국 의 탈 문양 등을 현대적 감각에 맞게 재구성하였으며 형태와의 조화를 위해 목재의 고유색채와 무늬를 최대한 살려 활용하였다. 문양의 제작기법은 목공용 레이저 조각기의 다양한 활용, 목재 상감기 법, 접목기법 등을 이용하였으며, 대량생산을 위하여 수공예에 의존하지 않고 목공용 기계를 최대한 사용하였다. 결구구조는 전통적인 연귀맞춤 Today's interest in craft culture, which is changing and varying rapidly, is mainly for its material, formative aspect and practical aspect, that is to say, the craft product with its functionality. Among other things, various application of material could be led to development of new technique, which would ultimately be led to development of quality craft product so that it would play positive role for its popularization. Common examples of genre that expresses curving shape with wooden materials include furniture design, various customs craft product, and local craft product in the past. However, it had limitation in expression due to its wood material manufacturing techniques and methods and poor machinery condition. Today it's a lot easier to bending processing of wooden materials since now we have abundant materials providing for mass production, developed techniques and advanced machinery. This study is to present ways of creating industrial craft product, making the best use of wood texture and its unique pattern, and to reduce the amount of materials with the help of the bending processing, to try new method of bending processing, and to maximize the expression of the unique color and texture of wood. For subjects of artwork, I've selected tour craft products and other industrial craft products that come with tour and leisure, which many people usually enjoy during their free time, various culture and art festivals, local events and so on. For pattern and shape, I've re-organized in modernized way applied pattern from nature, plant pattern, Korean mask pattern and so on, which could deliver the most popular and Korean image. 韓國의 傳統紋樣을 利用한 産業木工藝品 開發에 關한 硏究

예로부터 인간은 동물, 식물 혹은 바위나 구름 등, 존재하는 모든 사물에 상징적 의미를 부여하였다. 그리고 선조들의 조형예술품(造 形藝術品)에 나타난 문양(紋樣)을 보면 그 시대와 그 사회 구성원들의 생활과 밀접한 관련이 있어 문양이 단순한 장식적 미(裝飾的 美)의 추구 외에도 민족 고유의 미의식(美意識)과 정서를 내포하고 있음을 알 수 있으며, 특히 우리 민족의 문화유산(文化遺産)에 나타 난 문양을 보면 자연(自然)의 미, 즉 자연의 질서에 조화롭게 순응하면서 독특한 문화를 창조하여 왔음을 알 수 있다. 경제성장에 따른 소득수준의 향상과 지구촌화(地球村化)가 맞물려 관광산업(觀光産業)이 미래산업(未來産業)으로 주목받게 되면서 관광기념품 (觀光紀念品)시장에서 식품류(食品類)나 의류(衣類)와 함께 많은 비중을 차지하고 있는 공예품(工藝品)에 대한 관심도 점 차 높아지게 되었다. 기념품으로서의 공예품은 경제적 효용가치뿐만 아니라 그 지방 혹은 그 나라의 우수한 전통문화(傳統文化)를 외부에 널리 알리는 문화상품(文化商品)이 된다. 따라서 우리 선조들의 자연에 순응하는 겸허한 정신세계와 미의식이 잘 표현된 전통 문양을 연구하고 현대적으로 재창조하여 적절하게 응용함으로써 한국적 미의식이 잘 반영된 관광상품으로서의 산업목공예품(産業木工 藝品)을 개발하고자 한다. Since ancient times, human beings gave symbolic meanings for all things that are existed such as animals, plants or rocks and clouds and so on. In addition, we recognize that the designs that are appeared in the formative arts of our ancestors contain not only simple decorative beauty but also the emotion and the beauty ceremony of national characteristic in the close relationship of the period and the life of social organizers. Especially, designs that are appeared in the cultural inheritance of our nation were created as an unique culture with harmonized order of nature. As the tourism industry is noticed as the future industry with the improvement of income level and globalization followed by economic growth, the interests of our industrial arts are gradually getting higher together with food and clothing in the tourism souvenir market. The industrial arts as souvenirs are becoming the cultural goods that are not only for the value of economic use but also for spreading beautiful traditional culture of that country to the outside of the world. As a result, it is very significant to study the traditional designs that the modest spiritual world and the beauty ceremony of our ancestors are well expressed. To develop industrial wooden crafts as tourism goods, it is necessary to recreate designs in modern way and make goods that koreanized beauty ceremony are well reflected.
