대학교 캠퍼스의 풍수지리적 입지연구 : 수도권 6개 대학을 중심으로

삶을 영위하는 땅이라는 空間의 길흉에 따라 인간의 삶도 달라진다. 어떤 땅을 밟고 있는가는 인간에게 중요하다. 현재 밟고 있는 땅이 어떤 땅인가는 그 땅에 터를 잡고 있는 기관이나 삶을 영위하는 사람들과 깊은 상관성을 갖는다. 한국사회 발전에 지대한 영향을 미치는 대학도 예외가 될 수 없다. 대학의 지리적 형세와 공간배치의 풍수적 특성은 대학발전에 중요하다. 대학 캠퍼스의 풍수적 길흉은 미래의 동량지재인 학생들의 학업성취도, 우수한 연구실적, 교직원들의 업무능력 향상, 조직구성원 간의 和睦과 유대강화에 영향을 미치게 된다. 풍수적 해석이 대학발전의 설명에 대한 전부이거나 가장 중요한 요인이라고 주장할 수는 없으나 중요한 설명 도구들 중의 하나가 될 수 있다. 본 연구는 이러한 전제에 입각해 사례로 선정한 6개 대학인 경희대, 고려대, 성균관대, 서울대, 연세대, 경기대를 대상으로 풍수적 입지를 분석하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 분석방법으로는 형기풍수와 이기풍수를 겸용하였다. 형기풍수 방법으로는 입지 주변 산들의 지기전달과 형세를 살피는 看龍法, 주요 건축물들에 대한 聚氣를 살피는 定穴法, 四神砂의 형상을 살펴보는 藏風法, 생기의 설기를 막아주는 물에 관한 得水法을 사용하였다. 크게 보아 물형론도 형기풍수의 일부라 할 수 있는 바 물형론도 보완적으로 사용하였다. 이기풍수적 분석을 위해서는 좌향법에 의거했으며 좌향법의 대표적 이론을 담고 있는 趙廷棟의『地理五訣「八十向法」』, 『陽宅三要』, 箬冠道人의 『八宅明鏡』을 준거로 삼았다. 사례연구를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 경희대학교의 주산은 천장산이며 이 산의 오행은 武曲 金星體이고 형상은 鳳凰歸巢形이다. 看龍法으로 지기 전달과정을 살펴보면, 천장산의 길한 지기가 본관으로 수렴되고 있으며, 定穴法으로 본다면 지금은 주변 땅이 변형되어 정확한 판단은 어려우나 생기 충만한 곳에 본관이 입지하였다. 藏風法으로 보면, 내외사신사가 유정하게 환포하여 사방에서 불어오는 바람으로부터 생기를 보호해 주는 藏風局을 형성하고 있다. 반면 得水局을 형성하였다고 보기는 어렵다. 이기풍수론 좌향법으로 분석한 결과 본관과 캠퍼스 정문의 관계는 동서사택 가택구성법으로 延年宅의 관계로 길한 배치이다. 반면에 후문의 배치는 五鬼宮으로 아쉬운 배치라고 할 수 있다. 「八十八向法」으로 본관의 입지를 고찰한 결과 胎向胎流로 「八十八向法」에 부합하는 좌향이다. 고려대학교 서울캠퍼스의 주산은 개운산(안암산)이며 오행상 貪狼木星體이다. 物形論으로는 牧丹半開形이다. 看龍法으로 보면, 현무봉인 개운산의 길한 지기가 본관으로 수렴되고 있다. 定穴法의 관점에서는 아늑한 공간에 본관이 입지하고 있다. 藏風法의 관점에서는 四神砂가 가까이 유정하게 환포하여 藏風局을 형성하고 있다. 得水法의 관점에서는 得水局을 이루었다고 보기 어렵다. 이기풍수론 좌향법의 동서사택론 관점에서는, 본관과 캠퍼스 정문을 분석한 결과 가택구성법상 불배합의 혼합택이다. 다만 후문은 동북 艮方에 입지하고 있어 艮門乾主의 天乙宅(天醫) 또는 乾宅 天乙門이 되어 길한 배치이며 『地理五訣』의 「八十八向法」으로 본관의 입지를 고찰한 결과 自生向으로 「八十八向法」에 부합하는 좌향이다. 고려대학교 서울캠퍼스의 본관을 중심으로 분석한 결과 아늑한 장소에 입지하고 있으며 전체 캠퍼스의 배치도 개운산의 지기를 수렴하여 무난한 것으로 여겨진다. 서울대학교 관악 캠퍼스의 주산인 관악산은 맹열한 火氣를 상징하는 廉貞 火星體이다. 풍수 物形論의 관점에서는 형국의 飛鳳歸巢形이다. 看龍法의 관점에서는, 관악산의 정제되지 않은 억센 기가 행룡과정 중 어느 정도 탈살된 지기가 본관으로 수렴되고 있다. 定穴法의 관점에서 본관은 관악산의 억센 기운에 노출된 것 같지만 본관 가까이 사신사가 유정하게 잘 환포하고 있는 곳에 입지하고 있다. 본관은 內外四神砂가 사방에서 불어오는 바람으로부터 생기를 보호해 주고 있어 藏風局을 형성하고 있으나 得水局을 형성하였다고 볼 수는 없다. 이기풍수론 좌향법 중 동서사택론인 『陽宅三要』와 『八宅明鏡』론으로 본관과 캠퍼스 정문의 풍수입지를 고찰한 가택구성법상 生氣宅이며 길한 배치라고 할 수 있다. 이기풍수론 좌향법 중 「八十八向法」으로 본관의 좌향과 水口의 풍수입지를 분석한 결과 向上作局으로 生向이 되어‘文庫消水’에 합치되어 풍수상 길한 좌향이다. 성균관대학교 인문사회과학캠퍼스는 應鳳이 主山이며 武曲 金星體이다. 物形論의 관점에서는 貴人端坐形이다. 看龍法으로 보면, 본관의 풍수입지는 북한산의 지기를 받은 응봉의 지기가 본관으로 수렴되고 있다. 定穴法으로 보면, 응봉의 길한 지기가 수렴하고 있지만 외형상 배산면수 지형에 前低後高형의 남향으로 배치되지 않고 서향으로 배치되어 아쉬움이 있다. 본관은 藏風局을 형성하고 있으나 得水局을 형성하였다고는 볼 수 없다. 이기풍수론 좌향법 중 동서사택론인『陽宅三要』와『八宅明鏡』론으로 본관과 캠퍼스 정문의 풍수입지를 고찰하면, 家宅九星法상 生氣宅으로 길한 배치라고 할 수 있다. 다만 후문은 불배합이다. 좌향법 중 「八十八向法」으로 캠퍼스 본관의 좌향과 水口의 풍수입지를 살펴본 결과 불입향이다. 캠퍼스 본관의 외형을 기준한 좌향이 지반정침 기준으로 甲坐庚向이며 서향으로 前高後低形이라 아쉽다. 연세대 신촌캠퍼스의 주산은 鞍山이며 貪狼 木星體이다. 物形論의 관점에서는 독수리가 알을 품고 있는 형상인 鷲抱卵形이다. 이것은 학교 상징인 독수리와 부합해 독수리가 알을 품고 새끼를 길러 내보낸다는 양육의 의미와도 상통한다. 看龍法으로 보면, 한북정맥의 지기를 받는 鞍山의 생기 충만한 지기가 본관으로 수렴되고 있다. 定穴法으로 보면, 본관 뒤에는 대우관과 연희관이 입지하고 있고 좌우측에는 청룡과 백호가 유정하게 길게 環抱한다. 본관을 중심으로 하는 신촌 캠퍼스는 藏風局을 형성하고 있지만 得水局을 형성하였다고 볼 수는 없다. 양택풍수에서 많이 활용되고 있는 풍수 이기론 중 하나인 ‘동서사택론’으로 본관과 캠퍼스 정문의 풍수입지를 고찰한 결과 家宅九星法상 生氣宅으로 길한 배치이다. 본관의 좌향은 天盤縫針 기준으로 癸坐丁向이며, 破口는 左水倒右 丁破로 墓向墓流이고 八十八向法과 합치되어 길한 좌향이다. 경기대학교 수원캠퍼스의 주산은 武曲 金星體의 광교산 형제봉이다. 수원캠퍼스를 물형론으로 살펴보면 할아버지 산인 석성산이나 鷹峯을 바라보고 있는 형국으로 回龍顧祖形이다. 看龍法의 관점에서는, 형제봉의 용맥이 소원봉을 세운 후 남서쪽으로 가지를 뻗어 경기대학교 수원캠퍼스로 지기가 수렴되고 있다. 定穴法으로 보면, 본관은 뒤쪽 작은 소원봉에 기대어 횡룡입수처에 입지하고 있다. 경기대 수원캠퍼스 전체는 藏風局을 형성하였지만 본관은 장풍국을 형성하였다고 보기 어렵다. 得水局을 형성하지도 못했다. 좌향법으로 보면, 캠퍼스 본관과 정문은 가택구성법으로 伏位의 관계로 길한 배치라고 할 수 있고 후문은 五鬼로 길한 배치라고 할 수 없다. 좌향법 중 「八十八向法」으로 살펴보면, 坐向은 天盤縫針 기준으로 戌坐辰向이며 左水倒右 巽巳破로 正墓向이다. 정묘향은 「八十八向法」이론에 부합하여 吉格이다. 풍수에서는 완벽한 땅과 공간은 존재하지 않는다. 대상에 대한 분석의 결과를 토대로 抑强扶弱의 관점에서 조화와 균형을 이루도록 하는 것이 풍수의 최종지향점이다. 약한 부분에 대해서는 氣를 보완하고 북돋아 주는 조치를 취해야 하며, 지나치게 강한 부분은 비보진압기법을 활용하여 보완하고 제어하여 인간에게 유익한 환경을 조성하도록 해야한다. 각 장의 소결에서 비보제언한 바와 같이 보완 한다면 대학 캠퍼스의 풍수입지 환경은 개선되고 새로운 도약과 발전의 계기가 마련될 것이다. Human life is influenced much by the luck of place he or she lives in. It is very important for humans to choose the place where they will live. What the land one lives in is like is closely related to the people who own or operate it. University cannot be an exceptional case of the rule mentioned above, which have had much influence on the development of Korean society. The geographical form and Feng Shui characteristic of space allocation is important for the growth of university. The luck of Feng Shui of university campus influences the academic performance of students, good research achievement, job performance of university professors and workers, and organizational harmony and solidarity among them. Feng Shui interpretation of university campus is not the most important factor to the growth of it, but can be one of the tools to explain it. This thesis is to analyze university campus with the main theories of Feng Shui. The cases for analysis are Kyung Hee University, Korea University, Sungkyunkwan University, Seoul National University, Yonsei University, and Kyonggi University. This study used main theories from both Form School and Compass School. Theories this research adopted from Form School are the methods of Reading Mountain Range, Finding Meridian Spot, Softening Wind, and Getting Good Waterway. The theory of Mountain Shape is also complementarily applied to analyze cases, which is considered as a part of Form School. To analyze Sitting Direction and Facing Direction with the Compass, this research depends on Di-Li- Wu-Jue 88 Direction(『地理五訣 88向』) and Yang –Zhai- San- Yao(『陽宅三要』) written by Zhao Ting Dong(趙廷棟), and Ba –Zhai- Ming- Jing (『八宅明鏡』) written by Ruo Guan Dao Ren(箬冠道人). Case studies are summarized as follows: Kyung Hee University(Located in Seoul)’s Main Mountain is Cheon-Jang and belongs to the Star of Martial Arts with Metal Element(武曲 金星體) and its Land Form is classified as the type of Returning Phoenix to its Nest(鳳凰歸巢形). In Kyung Hee University campus, the earth energy of Cheon-jang Mountain is well connected to the main building of the university. The main building of Kyung Hee University is located in Meridian Spot( a hot spot of positive Qi) and also surrounded by good mountain shapes represented by Four Celestial Animals. The Wind around Kyunghee University is Soft and the Waterways around it are also good. The relation between main building and front gate is good but the rear gate is not located in a good direction. The Kyung Hee University is overall located in a good sitting and facing direction. Korea University(located in Seoul)’s Main Mountain is Gae-Woon and belongs to the Star of Greedy Wolf with Wood Element(貪狼木星體) and its Land Form is classified as the type of Magnolia Half Bloomed( 牧丹半開形). In Korea University campus, the earth energy of Gae-woon Mountain is well connected to the main building of the university. The main building of Korea University is located in Meridian Spot and also surrounded by good mountain shapes represented by Four Celestial Animals. The Wind around Korea University is Soft, but the Waterways around it are not that good. The relation between main building and front gate is not that good but the rear gate is located in a good direction. The Korea University is overall located in a good sitting and facing direction. Seoul National University(SNU)’s Main Mountain is Kwan-Ahk and belongs to the Star of Chastity with Fire Element(廉貞 火星體) and its Land Form is classified as the type of Returning of Flying Phoenix to its Nest(鳳凰歸巢形). In SNU campus, the strong earth energy of Kwan-Ahk Mountain is well connected to the main building of the university. The main building of SNU is located in Meridian Spot and also surrounded by good mountain shapes represented by Four Celestial Animals. The Wind around SNU is Soft, but the Waterways around it are not that good. The relation between main building and front gate is good. SNU is overall located in a good sitting and facing direction. SungkyunKuan University(Campus for Liberal Arts and Social Science in Seoul) ’s Main Mountain is Eungbong and belongs to the Star of Martial Arts with Metal Element(武曲 金星體) and its Land Form is classified as the type of Noble Man Sitting Calm and Peaceful(貴人端坐形). In SungkyunKuan University campus, the earth energy of Eungbong Mountain is well connected to the main building of the university. The main building of SungkyunKuan University is not located in Meridian Spot( a hot spot of positive Qi) and not surrounded by good mountain shapes represented by Four Celestial Animals. The Wind around SungkyunKuan University is Soft, but the Waterways around it are not that good. The relation between main building and front gate is good but the rear gate is not located in a good direction. The SungkyunKuan University is overall located in a good sitting and facing direction. Yonsei University(located in Seoul) ’s Main Mountain is Ansan and belongs to Star of Martial Arts with Metal Element(武曲 金星體) and its Land Form is classified as the type of Eagle Embracing its Egg(鷲抱卵形). In Yonsei University campus, the earth energy of Ansan Mountain is well connected to the main building of the university. The main building of Yonsei University is located in Meridian Spot( a hot spot of positive Qi) and also surrounded by good mountain shapes represented by Four Celestial Animals. The Wind around Yonsei University is Soft, but the Waterways around it are not that good. The relation between main building and front gate is good. The Yonsei University is overall located in a good sitting and facing direction. Kyonggi University(located in Su-won City) ’s Main Mountain is Hyungjaebong(a branch of Gwanggyo Mountain) and belongs to the Star of Greedy Wolf with Wood Element(貪狼木星體) and its Land Form is classified as the type of Returning Drgon’s Looking at its Ancestors(回龍顧祖形). In Kyonggi University campus, the earth energy of Gwanggyo Mountain is well connected to the main building of the university. The main building of Kyonggi University is located in Meridian Spot( a hot spot of positive Qi) and also surrounded by good mountain shapes represented by Four Celestial Animals. The Wind around main building of Kyonggi University is not Soft, but the campus is overall protected by Four Celestial Animals. The Waterways around it are not that good. The relation between main building and front gate is good, but the rear gate is not located in good direction. The Kyonggi University is overall located in a good sitting and facing direction. There is no perfect land which satisfies everything needed in Feng Shui. Harmony and Balance are needed in terms of Controlling the Strong Element and Boosting the Weak Element, which makes the environment friendly to humans and is the final destination of Feng Shui. Feng Shui of 6 Universities will be improved with that kind of spirit and attitude, although a different remodelling plan will be chosen for each university.
