생태계의 위기상황은 오늘날 가장 심각한 하나의 과제로 인식되고 있다. 이런 현실적 상황은 신학적 응답을 요구하고 있는 것으로 보아야 한다. 이런 현실에서 생태계의 위기에 대하여 신학적으로 응답해야 할 필요가 있다. 생태신학을 전개함에 있어서 중요한 것은 삼위일체 신관에 대한 바른 이해이다. 삼위일체 신관을 바탕으로 바르게 해석된 창조론과 우주적 기독론과 구원론, 그리고 성령론과 종말론은 생태계에 대한 기독교의 이해에 많은 변혁을 이룰 수 있다. 생태계의 보전은 인간중심적 세계관, 물질문명을 기초로 한 가치관, 그리고 산업자본주의적 사고를 극복하는 것으로부터 시작될 수 있다. 그것은 인간의 삶의 전반적인 변화를 의미하는 것이라고 할 수 있다. 현대의 가치관이 보다 쉽게, 보다 편리하게, 그리고 보다 안락한 삶을 지향하는 것이라고 할 수 있는데, 생태신학적 관점에서 볼 때, 생태계 위기의 극복은 이 모든 삶의 양태를 바꾸는 것으로부터 출발해야 한다. 그것은 기독교적 가치관이라고 할 수 있는 금욕과 절제의 덕목의 중요성을 새롭게 인식하게 한다. 서구의 기독교는 그 동안 생태파괴적인 성격을 지니고 있었던 것이 사실이다. 이에 대한 많은 비판을 겸허하게 수용하고, 앞으로 생태계의 회복과 생명 중심의 종교로 전환하는 계기를 삼아야 할 것이다. 오늘의 생태계 위기의 상황에서 앞으로 신학적 과제는 매우 지대하다고 할 수 있다. 또한 이런 생태계의 문제에 대한 신학적 응답은 기독교 문화가 생명문화로 전환되도록 요구한다. 교회는 목회적 실천을 통해 그러한 요구에 적극적으로 응답해야 한다. The critical situation of the ecological system is now one of the most serious problems that we have to solve. This present situation needs a theological response. So now a theological answer should be given to this crises on the ecological system. To develop ecological theology, a good comprehension of the view of Trinitarianism is important. When Creationism, Universal Christianism, Salvationism, Holy Spiritualism, and Eschatalogy are interpreted based on Trinitarianism, there will be revolutionary change in Christianity's view of the ecological system. It begins with a human centered view of the world, a sense of value based on material civilization, and the elimination of the industrial capitalistic way of thinking, to preserve the ecological system. This means a general change in human life. The modern sense of value is to provided an easy, convenient, and more comfortable life. But from an ecological theological point of view, we should start changing this sense of value to overcome the crises on the ecological system. And this make us recognize the importance of asceticism and moderation-Christian sense of values. It is true that western Christianity has had an ecology destructive character. We should accept a lot of criticism modestly and take this as an opportunity for recovery of the ecological system and for a change of Christianity into a life centered religion. With the crises of the ecological system, we have a big theological task to do now. To solve the ecological problems, the Christianity culture must become a life centered culture. So the church should answer it positively through practical action.
