        Transformationalists noticed that languages which are quite different on the surface often show many similar features in the deep structures. Sentences having this universal deep structure are converted into the sentences of particular language by a process known as transformation. A transformation may involve any of four processes; addition, deletion, rearrangement, or substitution. In this paper an effort has been made to analyze sentences in English deletion and to find out the principle of deletion. We are apt to understand the deleted constituents by moans of a linguistio intuitions and to make an error that way. However the systematio study of deletion is very conducive to understand English structure and meaning. For the comprehensive study of deletion, I attemp to describe the deletion phenomena by means of the process of derivation from deep structure to surface structure. Instead of deleting the identity constituents the repeated words are replaced by proform. A proform is also a device for abbreviating and for avoiding repetition. In addition, speech may be affected by physical surroundings, emotion memory limitations, distractions, etc. It is chiefly sentence forms, not actual speech outputs, that are of primary discussed in English deletion. It is also my hope that this paper will be able to mak0 some contributions to teaching English at secondary school.

        Our society now is rapidly changing from economy-oriented society to culture-oriented society. Recognition regarding the importance of culture as the center of national power is gradually expanding as the society is switching over to mass-consumption and service society; and it is brought into relief worldwide, for it is a high value added industry unlike the established manufacturing industry. Theme parks cannot anticipate development without image industry. In the United States, image industry like TV drama, film and game software developed together with theme park industry. This leads to the expectation that rapidly developing Korean image film industry will have intimate relations with revitalization of theme park. Image cultural industry is developing to a high degree, and big-scale film-drama open sets are constructed in many places nowadays; yet, such is not being able to develop as a cultural experience and entertainment complex linked with the surrounding area. Although not all kinds of theme parks are related to image industry, the architectural form of image theme park, the representative of theme parks, has intimate relations with the film-drama set design techniques. The studies on open sets have been integrated with the notions like marketing, environmental factor, software and such up to date, yet objective studies for the architectural space in charge of hardware (finishes) regarding drama subject and periodical background do not exist at all. Hence, the purpose of this thesis is to build up objective case analysis data to improve economic efficiency and safety of finish use for the future plan of open set construction, by comparatively analyzing spacial and structural characteristics and material finishes through the comparison between 'Yi San' from the middle Joseon dynasty and 'East of Eden' from the periodical background of 1970s to late 1980s. The study method and progress are like the following. In Chapter 2, the concept of image theme park, classification, component, present condition are grasped as the theoretical inquiry into image theme park, along with basic introduction of the idea and classification, characteristic, and present condition of 'theme park' as the super ordinate concept of image theme park. In Chapter 3, classification of open set type, drama background, space structural characteristics and characteristics of open set surface material treatment are analysed based on objective case studies, by analysing surface treatment of basic factors and finishes through the cases of 'Yi San' of Joseon dynasty background and 'East of Eden' of the background of 1970s to 1980s. In Chapter 4, it is to comparatively analyze surface material according to the characteristics of drama set, that is to say drama background, space, structure and finish material. For the finish material research, it was classified into spacial factors affected by visibility range and camera proximity shooting such as 1st floor finish, exterior finish of 2nd floor and up, ground finish, frame finish and roof finish; for classification according to finish material characteristics, items such as size, intensity, color, material quality are researched. Through such classification, analysis frame of characteristics and classification of finishes according to actual drama set classification is arranged; case study is proceeded; surface material characteristics are analyzed; and finish characteristics for drama set construction plan would be grasped by integrating all the mentioned. Through the above study and analysis process, the following conclusion regarding objective analysis on exterior finishes of drama are suggested. TV drama open set has the most use of spacial reconstruction. Drama recaptures our lives and the recaptured lives through drama has continuous effect on us in reverse. The change from analogue age to digital age demands change in sets which has been valid as the background of TV drama. Although drama production expenditure rose due to Korean Wave in Asia, drama open set needs to be approached as an architectural space by elevating the finish level of set to actual interior finish and using actual and real materials instead of deceptive low-budget materials, to manage and attract continuous interests as tourist spot after the drama departs. For this, the ones reconstructing realistic atmosphere which can be practical and kept permanently should be used as finish materials for architectural structure. Since open set structure premises historical research rather than the idea of designer, designs based on facts should be prioritized and it is in direct relations with theme park architectural technique. Space needs to be more diversified than building exterior, street formation and movement regulation of reality. The result of the drama set exterior finish analysis is summarized like the following. First, when researching the spacial and structural characteristics, the set for 'Yi San' is composed of 13 sections in traditional wooden structure based off of Changdeokgung, and divided spaces defined by low fences piled up one on another centering around 5 yards. Spacial boundary is sensed through continuance and direction of gaze repeating 'block and openness' of structure by having differences in floor height of various spaces. One the other hand, the set for 'East of Eden' is composed of 43-section structure, it was built by recapturing Sogong-dong, Namyeong-dong and Pimatgol realistically. As for the spacial composition of 'East of Eden', hospital, post office, embassy, school and Taesung building were arranged on left side; 4 to 6 storied urban skyscrapers such as department store, securities, newspaper company and the bank of Korea were arranged on right side, based on North-South axis. Also, it was examined that the street, the transferring space leading to the back street of shopping district, induces to spacial expansion with visual continuance through mediating space repeating blockage, or disappearing by curving rather than remaining straight. Secondly, planes compose 6 parts of 'ㄷ' shaped dual Ikgong style 5-purlin structure, double-eaves and paljjak roof; leeguwa is composed of hexagon structure, 1 part of space and paljjak hexagon roof. It was researched that Seonjeongak and Seungharu are each composed of 'ㄴ' and 'ㅡ' shapes; 5 parts and 3 parts; dual Ikgong and 5-purlin structure, and Gyujanggak is composed of single Ikgong 5-purlin structure of 5 parts with double-eaves. Others like Dohwaseo, Gaksacheoso are found to be composed of 6 and 5 parts; Chulmok 3-purlin structure and single Ikgong 5-purlin; 겹처마 with paljjak roof and oneply-eaves with matbae roof. Thirdly, when analyzing roof finish, Taesung building, the bank of Korea, embassy, department store, securities, hospital, railroad bridge and such are finished with panel+VP; it was researched that securities, shopping district, bath house, publishing company, Wangjagak used slates; Wongudan used cement tiles; barbershop and the house of the hero used plywood+ western tiles as finish material. As for the finish of wall, it was researched that buildings made of GRC are Taesung building and the bank of Korea; structures finished with tile are barbershop and the house of the hero and Wangjagak. For the finish material of lower wall, it was used for buildings considered high such as Taesung building, the bank of Korea, and department store; bricks are used for others like embassy, securities, shopping district, hospital and Wangjagak. Forth, as for the floor composition, pattern composition appears differently according to the change in patterns and materials regarding the change on floor. Especially for the floor composition of 'East of Eden', the pattern composition for department store used P-TILE, stone, concrete and such depending on spacial composition; for spacial division, there are spaces heightening partial position depending on the overall plan; in case of Taesung building and the bank of Korea, the entrances are finished with granite and concrete. Especially for 'Yi San', the spacial division shows ranking system by diversifying floor level in traditional architecture. For exterior finish material, granite, patterned brick, P-TILE and Oregon pine plywood are mainly used; interior also appeared to divide space by the difference of platforms. For open sets to be used as theme parks after drama shooting, usage of proper materials for regulation; application of actual architectural regulation for fire fighting equipment like sprinkler, structural calculation and such need to be encouraged when building sets for traditional, modern and present structure theme parks to protect from typhoon, fire and other natural disasters. The concept of drama open sets in digital era is changing due to the input of much capital, technology and professionals, creating design harmonizing the whole with the use of visual video unlike the limited studio and temporary effect from the past. Along with such change, it needs to break away from the established temporary set and continuous study on architectural finish material should be demanded. 지금 우리사회는 과거의 경제 중심 사회에서 문화 중심의 사회로 급속히 변화하고 있다. 이제 문화는 대중소비와 서비스사회로 전환하면서 국가동력의 중심으로서 그 중요성에 대한 인식이 점차 확대되고 있는 실정이고, 기존의 제조업과는 달리 고부가가치 산업이기에 전 세계도 문화의 중요성이 더욱 부각되고 있다. 테마파크는 영상산업 없이는 발전을 기대할 수 없다. 미국에서는 영상산업-TV드라마, 영화, 게임소프트웨어-과 테마파크산업은 같이 맞물려 발전하였다. 이것은 지금 급속도로 발전하고 있는 한국 영상영화산업이 테마파크의 활성화와 밀접한 연관성을 가지리라는 예상을 가능케 한다. 영상 문화산업이 고도로 발달하는 요즘, 여러 장소에서 상당한 규모의 영화-드라마 오픈세트(Open Set)들이 건설되고 있으나, 이것을 지역과 연계된 적정규모의 문화체험 및 오락단지 건설로는 발전하지 못하고 있다. 물론 테마파크의 모든 종류가 영상산업과 관계된 것은 아니지만, 본격적 테마파크의 대표라 할 수 있는 영상 테마파크(Image Theme Park)의 건축적 형식은 영화-드라마세트 디자인기법과 밀접한 연관성을 가지고 있다. 지금까지의 오픈세트장에 대한 연구는 마케팅, 환경적 요인, 소프트적인 것 등과 같은 개념과 접목시키고 있으며, 드라마 주제와 시대 배경에 따른 하드웨어(마감재)를 담당하고 있는 건축공간에 대한 실증적 연구는 전무한 실정이다. 따라서, 본 논문의 목적은, 촬영장의 실증적 사례분석을 조선중기 시대물인 ‘이산’, 1970년- 1980년대의 ‘에덴의 동쪽’ 배경에 대한 특성 비교를 통하여 촬영장의 공간 및 구조적 특성, 마감재 처리의 비교분석에 의하여 향후 촬영장(오픈세트장) 건축계획 시에 마감재의 사용에 경제성과 효율성, 안전성을 향상시킬 수 있는 자료를 구축하는데 그 목표가 있다. 연구의 방법과 진행은 다음과 같다. 제 2장에서는 영상테마파크의 상위개념인 ‘테마파크’의 개념과 분류, 특성 및 현황, 유형에 대한 기본적인 소개와 더불어 영상테마파크에 대한 이론적 고찰로서 영상테마파크의 개념 및 분류, 구성요소, 현황에 대한 것을 파악하였다. 제 3장에서는 실증적 사례분석으로 촬영장의 유형분류, 드라마의 배경, 공간 및 구조특성, 촬영장의 표면재료 처리 특성에 대한 분석을, 조선시대를 배경으로 하는 ‘이산’과 1970 -1980년대를 배경으로 한 ‘에덴의 동쪽’의 사례를 통하여 표면재료의 기본 처리 특성과 특수마감 처리의 특성을 비교 분석하고자 한다. 제 4장에서는 촬영장의 드라마 특성에 따른 표면재료의 비교분석, 즉 드라마의 배경, 공간 및 구조, 마감재료 특성을 각각 비교분석하고자 한다. 마감 재료의 조사에 있어서는 공간요소별로 가시거리와 카메라 근접 촬영 시 영향을 받는 저층부, 상층부 외부 마감, 바닥마감, 골조, 지붕 마감 등으로 분류하였으며 마감재의 재료특성에 따른 분류로 재료의 크기, 색상, 재질에 대한 항목을 조사하였다. 이러한 분류를 통해 실제 드라마 촬영장의 분류에 따른 마감재의 특성 및 분류에 의하여 분석의 틀을 마련하고 사례조사를 실시하여 이에 따른 표면재료의 특성을 분석하여, 드라마 촬영장 건축계획 시 마감재의 특성을 파악하여 드라마 촬영장의 설계에 반영할 수 있을 것이다. 이상의 연구와 분석의 과정을 통해 드라마의 외부 마감재의 실증적 분석에 관한 다음과 같은 결론을 제시한다. 공간적인 재현을 가장 많은 방식으로 소유하고 있는 것은 TV드라마 오픈세트장이라고 할 수 있다. 드라마는 우리의 삶을 재현하고, 드라마를 통해 재현된 삶은 거꾸로 우리에게 지속적인 영향을 미친다. 아날로그 시대에서 디지털 시대로의 변화는 TV드라마에서 지금까지 통용 되어 왔던 배경으로의 세트에 변화를 요구하고 있다. 또한 아시아의 한류 열풍으로 인하여 드라마 제작비용이 상승 하였지만, 해당 세트장의 마감을 인테리어 마감 수준으로 올리고, 눈속임의 저가재료 사용에서 벗어나 현실적이고 사실적 재료를 사용하는 등 드라마 ’오픈 세트장‘도 하나의 건축 공간 차원에서 접근하여 드라마 촬영 후 관광지로서의 지속적인 관심과 운영을 위해서는 건축구조물로서 마감 재료를 사실적인 분위기로 재현하고 실질적이고 영구적으로 보존될 수 있는 것으로 건축되어야 한다. 오픈세트장 건축물은 디자이너의 아이디어보다는 고증을 전제로 해서 작업을 하기 때문에 사실에 입각한 디자인이 우선시 되어야 하며, 테마파크 건축기법과 직접적인 연관성을 가지고 있으므로 건축의 외관, 거리조성, 동선의 규정 등 실제보다 공간감의 다양화를 이루어야 한다. 이와 같이 드라마 촬영장의 외부 마감재의 분석을 통한 결과는 다음과 같이 요약된다. 첫째. 공간의 특성을 보면, ‘이산’은 창덕궁을 모델로 하여 지어진 익공형의 전통목구조 13개 동으로 이루어 졌으며, 5개의 마당이 서로 중첩 배치되어 낮은 담을 경계로 하여 공간을 구획하고 있다. 다양한 공간의 높낮이의 바닥 차이를 두어 건축물의 ‘막힘과 트임’을 반복하는 시선의 연속성과 방향성을 가지고 공간의 경계를 느끼게 하고 있다. 반면, ‘에덴의 동쪽’은 근대 건축물 43개 동의 구조로 이루어 졌으며, 소공동, 남영동, 피맛골 등의 모습을 사실적 재현을 통해 지어 졌다. ‘에덴의 동쪽’의 공간구성은 남북을 축으로 좌로는 병원, 우체국, 대사관, 학교, 태성빌딩이 배치되어 있고, 우로는 백화점, 증권사, 신문사, 한국은행 등의 4~6층의 도심의 고층건물이 배치되었다. 또한 뒷골목의 상가로 이어지는 전이공간인 길은 일직선보다는 구부러져서 사라지거나, 막힘과 트임을 반복하는 매개공간을 통한 시각적 연속으로 공간 확장을 유도하고 있음이 조사되었다. 둘째. 구조적 특성으로는 ‘이산’의 중회당은 ㄷ자형 평면으로 6칸의 이익공방식의 5량 구조와 겹처마와 팔짝 지붕을 이루고 있으며, 이구와는 육각형구조와 단칸의 팔짝 육각지붕으로 이루어 졌다. 이 밖에 성정각과 승화루는 각 ㄴ자형과 ㅡ형, 5칸과 3칸, 이익공과 5량 구조로 이루어 졌으며, 규장각은 5칸의 초익공 5량 구조의 겹처마 지붕으로 되어 있고 대부분의 건물이 가칠 단청에 도배단청 마감으로 조사되었다. 기타 도화서, 각사처소는 6칸과 5칸으로 이루어 졌고, 출목 3량 구조와 초익공 5량 구조에 홑처마의 맞배지붕으로, 도화서는 겹처마에 팔짝 지붕으로 구성되어 있음을 알 수 있었다. 구조적 특성으로 ‘에덴의 동쪽’은, 태성빌딩, 한국은행, 대사관, 백화점, 증권사, 병원, 철교 등은 철골+판넬로 마감을 하였으며, 목욕탕, 출판사, 왕자각과 같은 중소형 건물은 스틸 바(100X100)를 구조재로 하고 합판 판넬로 지어졌으며, 원구단은 전통 목구조 방식으로, 이발소와 주인공 집등 작은 건물은 소형 목재 기둥과 지붕 목조 트러스를 사용한 합판 판넬로 지어 졌음이 조사되었다. 벽체의 마감을 보면, 하층부가 GRC(glass-fiber reinforced cement)로 구성된 건물은 태성빌딩과 한국은행이며, 타일로 마감을 한 건물은 이발소, 주인공 집, 왕자각으로 조사되었고, 대사관이나 증권가 상가, 병원, 왕자각 등은 FRP(fiber-glass reinforced plastic) 벽돌을 외장재로 사용하고 있다. 셋째. 툇마루 및 기단 구성의 구조적 특성에서 패턴구성은 평면의 변화에 따른 패턴과 재료의 변화에 따라 달라지는 것으로 나타난다. 특히 ‘에덴의 동쪽’ 바닥 구성에서 백화점인 경우 P-TILE(plastlc tile), 돌, 콘크리트 등을 공간구성에 따라 사용하였으며, 공간구획에 있어서는 전체 계획에 따라 부분적으로 위치를 높이는 공간이 있었고, 태성빌딩과 한국은행의 경우는 출입구 부분에 화강석, 콘크리트로 마감을 한 것으로 조사되었다. 특히, ‘이산’의 공간구획은 전통건축에서의 바닥레벨을 다양하게 하여 위계질서를 나타나고 있으며. 외부 바닥의 마감 재료는 화강석, 전돌과 P-TILE(plastlc tile), 미송합판을 주로 사용하였고, 간혹 내부가 있는 경우 바닥의 단 차이에 의한 공간구획을 하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 오픈 세트장이 드라마 촬영 이후 테마파크로 이용되기 위해서는 전통 건축물이나 근대 혹은 현대 건축물 테마파크를 위한 촬영장 건립 시 태풍, 화재, 천재지변으로 부터 보호받기 위해서는 규정에 적합한 구조재의 사용과 소화전, 스프링 쿨러에 의한 소방 설비, 구조 계산등 현 건축 법규 적용을 적극 권장하여야 하며, 디지털시대의 드라마 오픈세트장은 시각영상물의 사용으로 전체 조화를 이루어 디자인을 만들어 가는 제한된 스튜디오와 임시적인 효과로써 시각적 이미지를 만들어 낸 것과는 달리 많은 자본과 기술과 전문 인력의 투입으로 오픈세트장의 개념이 달라져야 하며 이러한 변화에 맞추어 기존의 일시적인 예산 맞추기 위한 세트장에서 탈피하여 건축적인 마감 재료에 대한 지속적인 연구가 요구되어야 한다.

      • Study on electrically tunable colloidal photonic crystal for reflective display application

        In this dissertation, electrically tunable colloidal photonic crystal is mainly discussed with particular focus on the reflective display device. In chapter 1, introductive review of electrically tunable photonic crystal device is presented. A brief description of tunable photonic crystals and band-gap formation of colloidal photonic crystal is mentioned. Also the requirements for commercially adoptable reflective display and current status of colloidal photonic crystals are reviewed. The basic driving properties of polystyrene based tunable colloidal photonic crystal and the evaluation set-up is also compactly described. The remainder of the dissertation is composed of three chapters which mention the property enhancement of electrically tunable colloidal photonic crystals intensively. In chapter 2, the effects of adopting high refractive index nanoparticle in tunable photonic crystal are discussed. Simulated results showing relationships between bandwidth and peak wavelength of the crystalline colloidal arrays of various refractive index nanoparticles in water obtained from the FDTD method. And the tunable reflectance of polystyrene core/titania shell (PS/TiO2) nanostructures with narrow size distribution under the electric field is described. PS/TiO2 structure was prepared to make the materials with lower density, higher reflective index for fast response and high reflectance intensity. Then the optoelectric behavior of highly concentrated and mildly charged TiO2 nanoparticle colloids under external electric field is reported. Reflectance intensity change at the certain photonic bandgap and its irreversible switching characteristics are observed and discussed. Through computer aided numerical analysis simulation, the gradient spacing between charged particles are predicted which seems singularly appropriated the experimental results. Also the experimental evidence that the charged nanoparticle can play the role as a major charge carrier in non-aqueous liquid is described. Its short range moving and stacking on electrode cause the capacitive current flow and charge accumulation like ions in liquid state. In chapter 3, the color tuning behavior and switching stability of an electrically-tunable colloidal photonic crystal system were studied with particular focus on the electrochemical aspects to explore the reason why switching stability is decreased. The number of effective color tuning cycle was limited due to generation of unwanted ions by electrolysis of the water medium during electrical switching. By introducing larger electrochemical potential window electrodes, such as conductive diamond-like carbon or boron-doped diamond, the switching stability was appreciably enhanced through reducing the number of ions generated. In chapter 4, the switching stability enhancement of an electrically-tunable colloidal photonic crystal system was studied. To overcome this drawback, functional interlayer was introduced on the ITO electrode surface to prevent the ion generation and/or diffusion. Modification of the ITO-coated glass electrode surface to include a passivation layer increased the switching reliability; however, this methodology resulted in a reduction of the color tuning range. The thin ion blocking layer of over-coating on the ITO surface prevented the ion diffusion from electrode to colloidal particles and allowed increased number of cycles of stable color-tuning switching from red to green over 800 times, which is the best result ever reported for a tunable photonic crystal whose Δλ can be manipulated more than 100 nm.

        The purpose of this study is to develope organization support system methodology for information requirement determination. The issue of information requirements of an organization and their specifications span isolate two territories. One is that of organization and management and the other belongs to techicians. There is a considerable gap between these two territories. Research in requirements engineering(technician's side) has primarily concentrated on designing and developing formal languages to document and analyze user requirements, once they have been determined. This research has ignored the organizational issues involved in information requirement determination. Research in the field of organization and management has addressed the organizational issue which affect information requirements of an organization. Therefore this study id based on the development of new organization support system methodology through the process of determining and specifying information requirements of organizations. So we divide three parts-object system, user system and data processing system-for the research of organization support system. Once organization support system techniques are collected and developed through interaction of this research, organization support system methodology is discussed. But it is not probable that orgarnization support system methologies are adopted generally in organizations. Accordingly we developed an new organization support system methodology-IROM (Information Requirement and Organization Support System Methodology).

        Recently the anthracnose caused by C.gloeorporioider Penz. is becoming a major disease on Chinese matrimony Vine in Korea. This study was carried out to investigate the disease occurrence severity, clarify the physioloer of the pathogen and establish the control measure of the anthracnose in Chinese matrimony Vine. 1 . The average rates of infected fruits by anthracnose were different with ocality: 10.9% in Chungyang and 6,4% in Suweon. 2. Infected rate of immature fruits by anthracnose was more higher than that of mature frui ts in laboratory pathogenicity test. 3. The most vigorous mycel ial growth of C.gloeorporioider was observed in CMA among the nine media tested, while aerial hyphae formation was intensed in PDA medium. 4. Nutrient requirement of the pathogen revealed that the most suitable source of carbon and nitrogen were dextrose and gelatin, in Czapek Dox Agar as a basal medium, respectively. Aerial hyphae formation was accelerated with addition of mannose, D-fructose, galactose or sucrose as a carbon source and L-α-alanine or L-proline as a nitrogen source. 5. The spore germination of the pathogen on the water agar prepared with water-extrated Juice from leaf, immature fruit or mature fruit of Chinese matrimony Vine was recorded over 50%. 6. Spore germination rate of all isolates was stimulated on the Czapek Dox Agar contaning starch as a carbon source and NaN0_(3), Ca(NO_(3))_(2)· 4H_(2)O or (NH_(4))_(2)4H_(2)O as a nitrogen source. 7. Complete mycelial growth inhibition of the pathogen was observed on the POA medium mixed wi th Dithianon+copper oxychloride WP at the recommend dose which was equal to 1,000 ppm. The fungicides possesing inhibition activity of spore germination over 99% were Dithianon+copper Oxychloride WP, Propineb WP, Dithianon WP or Oxine-copper WP. 8. The promising fungicides to control the disease with over 80% of efficacy underfield trial were Dithianon + copper oxychloride WP or propineb WP, Control effect of the fungicides assist the disease persisted 7days after application.
